My fellow MyLotters are you crazy ?

Do you know the number of discussions that I have seen asking your name or your email or your family number or where you born or your school or your job ... all individually seems innocent however when you look at them as a whole you are being asked your complete history and some undiscerning person/people can use this information to steal your identity.
so I ask again my fellow mylotters are you crazy in answering these discussions or do you sometimes forget to look at the broader picture? next time you see a discussion asking information about YOU ask yourself if you would answer it if it was a stranger walking up to you in the street asking it? or do you think I am paranoid ? innocence can often hide threats.

Net is a very unsafe place to let out ur real detials so i would never give my information on net and esp to the people who i dont know. Ok email ok as on PTP sites like mylot or other sites like ptp i got one email which is exclusively for this purpose only but never give my phone numbers or adress to anyone, at most name of my city or country but then my city has over 17 million people. And i dont think anyone who is on net for some length of time is innocent enough to not know that no one should give information on net.. may be foolish but not innocent.

well an innocent question like what is your pets name etc can gain more information about you to someone who wants to steal your identity .. say one person asked your fav colour another your fav pet another you town of birth another your age another your family members .. all so innocent all different people ..but put it all together and they have your identity ..

wow i didnt realize this but like i did ask a question about what kind of dog i shd get and people answered that but i didnt think it might give me some identity of someone.. but may be to trained eyes who are on look out for identity, it might give them some clues .. thanks i would be careful not to even disclose my pets name or anything like that.

Hello kedves! Actually, I answered some discussion here who asked anything about me. Maybe I am crazy that time. But now that I read your discussion, I come to realized how to stupid I am to answer that discussion. Now I must be very cautious about it. Thanks for your advise!

I have seen post like that in the past but I can't remember replying any of those...I don't give my email easy as well as other personal information..
This post is very helpful, it reminds everyone to be careful!

This is just what I was thinking the other day, when I saw a topic someone made about such thing. Someone can just gather all information, put them together and here you go. I think people do not realize this can be used to harm them. Not everyone on this world is nice and 'normal'.
You are not being paranoid, you're just not being naive and that is what people should consider.

Hi kedves, I'm not crazy don't worry. I am cautious each time I respond on a particular discussion. I am aware of that as well. :)

You are right and it never occurred to me that all bits and pieces of information about me in various discussions can be put together as it is very easy to see in discussions in replied to and though i never gave much personal detail other than the city or country i live in but i would be more careful in future.
