I think tht i always love to respond a discussion first..may be not intentionaly but it happens because i want to be on the top of their responses...
I think it gains more popularity and the discussion starter gets the first impression frm me.. wht do u think?

i really dont think of responding first or last, the only thing matters to me is the if the discussion is of my interest and i respond to it. may be sometimes i find the discussions from the list of todays top discussion, or may be from other categories like my interest, new ,or recent ones.
and hence if i find the discussion from new and recent ones it happens that i answer them first and nothing more than that.
i know few of them like to answer first what we cant do it for all and if you like to answer first it is nothing wrong and you can continue the way you like.
i really dont know whether it gains popularity or not.

Yeah,I also just glance through the topics and answer the ones that are marked as zero responses. Don't know y,but I do it everytime. Sounds so childish and weird na??
Cheers

Hi there!
There are times when I would be the first one to respond to certain discussions. This happens especially when I respond to the discussions under: no responses. It's nice to be the first one to respond to certain discussions. Somehow it influences the responses made by the other members. I also have noticed that the first responder often gets several comments from other members aside from the author of the discussion.

Really depend on what the discussion is about and when I would log on and see it, also occassionally, I will check the 'no responses' tab
