What Is Your Talent?

To some degree everyone is born with some sort of talent, be it great or small. Some have discovered what their talent is, some have not. For those who know, how about telling us what it is. If you have an unusual talent this would be very interesting as well. For me, I have a talent for singing; at least I did before I lost my voice about 2 years ago. But the musical talent is still there. That is why I chose "singout" as MyLot handle.

I am a big advocate of children, especially teens. I think that my talent is being able to relate to teens. Somehow they believe I understand what they say and how they think. It is my "way" which has led them to trust that I will always help them. I've heard way too much at times LOL and they trust I will not turned my back on them.

A talent is a gift. In the music world (and this could get controversial) a person can not be taught to sing. There should not even be such a word as "Voice Teacher." Singing is a gift. Everyone has it to a certain degree; some with less degree, some with more. A better word than voice teacher should be "Voice Coach," or someone with the training to bring out the most of the talent that you nave been given. I don't know how I got off on that but the idea is the same. You are born with that ability to relate to children and teens and you should develop it to the fullest. In your case, experience is the best coach of your talent; not just your experience but the experience of those who are the best in the field. Study them, learn from them, and see how their techniques relate to your own. But only glean from them what is comfortable for you to use because each person is different.

My talent is not unusual. I know I have a talent playing badminton. And what I need is more practice and lessons from the professionals that has a lot of experience. I'm currently pregnant now and I have stopped my training. Maybe when my baby get older that she can walk or when she can go to school. I want to continue my training. I am dreaming that someday I will enter the Olympics, proudly represent my country and win the GOLD medal. That's is my dream. I pray to GOD that he will give me strength and another opportunity to achieve this dream. Good Day to all!

Thank you for sharing that with us. I wish the best for your dream of the Olympics. Your little one will be proud of you when she/he gets old enough to understand what you have accomplished. This, in turn, will be an inspiration to the child to strive for excellence in life. This also will be a benefit to us all.

I believe I'm pretty good at writing my stories. They aren't perfect, and I still have alot to learn, but most people like them. I try to make them interesting and get the dialog and grammar correct. I think I'm improving adn I'm certainly having fun!

As long as you're having fun at it how can you go wrong? Have you ever tried to do anything with your short stories like getting them published maybe? I know it's hard to get anything published. Many times (as in my case) we go into it with a negative outlook so we've struck out before we even begin. Good luck in your endeavors.

Hmmm, my talent is... being crazy? LOL Just kidding.
I'd say I have two real talents. One is art/creativity. I've always been a creative person. Luckily, I realized my talent early and was an Art Honors student in high school and majored in Art (and English) in college.
My other "talent" is knowing how to cheer people up. There've been times when it was impossible (there are some people who simply REFUSE to be cheered up) but, usually, when I aim to lift someone emotionally, I succeed. I'm extremely empathic (although I do not consider that a talent) and know when there's something wrong.
That's a far cry from being a good comedian, though! I'd make a HORRIBLE commedian... I could't tell a good joke to save my soul!

I can see your creativity in the way you express yourself when you write; and I have felt you ability to empathize as well, even in your writing. Maybe that is why I look forward to your posts. Have you ever done any social work? You might want to give that some thought. Thanks for your response mentalward.

Funny you should mention social work. My mother was a social worker with the State for, I think, 13 years. She was a teacher before that but disliked being sent from one school to another by the State.
She worked in foster care. The thing about this was that she'd come home and cry on MY shoulder! I was her sounding board.
Yes, I've given it some thought in the past. I'd need to go back to school, though, for the proper degree before anyone would consider hiring me. These days, life experiences are generally not enough to get hired. Employers want to see that diploma!
I don't have the health to go back to school, or even to hold down a steady job, even part time. I don't know when I'm going to feel 'bad' as opposed to 'very bad' from day to day. So, I just do what I can when I can for the people I know and those I meet.
It's had it's rewards, too. I've met a few really great people (yourself included) who care enough about me in return who would do what they could to keep a smile on my face.

Hey there! I would say that I have a good talent in plating the guitar. I believe that is the unusual talent that I have, because I play the guitar the freestyle way. Like tapping, guitar percussion, lap technique. I always get an applause from my audience whenever I play the guitar. I can also sing. I'm a choir member in our school. I'm one of the good bass singers of our choir. I am also good at sketching, drawing animated characters like Guko of Dragon Ball Z.

I saw someone play a guitar like that one time on tv! That was one of the most amazing things I ever saw. You are very fortunate to have that talent and I would love to see it. And to add the other talents with it makes it that much more fantastic. Congratulations! You should always be a popular person. Keep up the good work. It brings a smile and sense of wonder to the eyes of people.

Yeah, I am well known in our school. Whenever there's a program in our school I'm the one who does the front act. It not only bring smile but amazement to the audience. And I'm so happy that I made it. Some says that what I did was something magical. I was really flattered when someone told me that and your friends and professors would tap your back with them saying, "Great!, Very good, nice!". I remember our college dean shakes my hand and told me that it was amazing.

I guess my talent is typing! I type very fast and I'm pleased to have this small gift. I would like to think that I have a talent for writing too! I have been writing for a long time in the way of personal journals, but I have never been published, until recently. I now try and write for Triond as well as Associated Content and another site called Neowild writing! I enjoy writing so much and I guess I must have some kind of basic talent in this area otherwise I would not have been published three times now! That's good that you possibly have a talent for singing. Have you ever tried taking it that step further? It's a shame about your loss of voice, perhaps it will return to you eventually. Goodluck. Congratulations on a great talent. This will be very useful to you in the future. And congratulations on being published too. I'm sure you will be very successful because your speed typing will allow you to turn out a greater volume of material at a much faster pace than the average "Hunt and Peck" typist. This also shows that you have a very quick mind which is necessary for success. Good luck in all your endeavors.

I am a more right-brained person. A typical Libra, youngest child. I am artistic.
I dance, teach dance and musical theater, write, decorate, and love doing anything creative with my hands.
I love to sing and act but do not think anyone would want to pay me for it, lol.
I also have a greater talent! I can roll one eyeball at a time!!

Mine is to sing too... I go around my house singing classic rock songs, and to be honest, I'm shocked that my family hasnt kill me yet! jajajaja... the truth is that I'm not bad at all -how modest!!- and if you love something, you must have talent for it. I just cant imagine life without music or not being able to sing anymore...
Happy Mylotting and have a nice day!

Well sing out!! Here I am again. I personally don't have a certain talent that I'm proficient at it, but I do enjoy doing lots of things. I'm not trained at anything. I take that back. I can sell about anything. But it has to be something that I can believe in, or that I know it isn't fake or untrue. If I can believe in it, I can sell it. How's that. cyclegmom

Hi everyone ! My talent is dancing. I have been active in school programs since I was a kid. I even joined the dancing club in our school when I was in elementary grade. I am also member of the pep squad in highschool. In college, my friends and I joined a dance contest and we won ! I have also choreographed a few dance numbers for my friends for their parties. I enjoy dancing !

Hi,
My talent...I love singing but I never tried to make money out of it. Since I was a child I love singing. But there is something strange about me...i barely sing secular songs, much more listen to them. I sing Church songs a lot be it solemn or pop or rock as long as it is for Him. This is my first passion.
I love also writing poems, short stories and I am working on a Trilogy right now. Most of my topics are experience, day to day living, nature and relationships. But my Trilogy centered on children's fantasy...does it seem weird because I am already 25 years old?
Thanks for reading.

I don't think you're weird at all. I rarely sing secular songs either. There's nothing wrong with that. So what if you are a late bloomer in the field of children's fantasy. Children need to dream too and what better source of fantasy than by someone who has already experienced those childhood years. Keep up the good work and continue to sing for Him. He will bless you for it.

I am a magician and my talent is magic. Besides that I consider speaking four languages as a talent too. I love doing magic and i love talking in other languages as well. In that a way I am able to share the magic even to people who don't understand English If you want to see magic you could visit my blog found at my profile page.

There is nothing which is needed more in today's world than something that brings joy to people. Magic is a very special talent which does just that. However, I must admit that sometimes it does make me a little frustrated when I can't figure out how certain tricks are done. I wish I had that talent but I don't, so I will have to be content to watch it in awe. And do you realise how important it is to able to speak other languages? Congratulations! Thanks for sharing.

I too have talents. But i still don't know what I'm really specialized in. I'm good in academics and as per the Indian standard, I'm god in languages. Other than that, I can play violin. I'm a rookie basketball player. I think I'm good at commentating, elocution, comparing and such stuff. I cant really sing with my voice.
But my best talent is gaming.. i have completed almost all the games that I've come across. And i do it at a fairly fast rate. But i don't think anyone considers gaming as a talent.

I'm not sure what is meant by "gaming." If by gaming you mean electronic games, then your proficiency at it is just evidence of an underlying talent which needs to be explored. Examine yourself as to what it takes to be good at gaming. When you decide what it is then develop that skill for your livelihood. For instance, if you discover that you must have good hand/eye coordination to be good at gaming, then look for something in life that takes that kind of skill. Good luck to you in your seach for your specialty.

Inborn Talent is God's Blessing. But what's our part is " Identifying our talents" is an important one. Once we identified it must be recognized by others. When it is is recognised we'll be popular. I'm having ORATORIAL SKILL. I developed this from my childhood. For many years i used this for in my profession. But i'm using for God. One of my church member recognised my skill and gave the opportunity in the church. Now i became popular in the church. Our talents should be exposed.Don't hide u'r talents. Don't be inferior. All credit goes to God. can u accept?

This is a fundamental belief about where talent comes from. After all, God made us to be able to take care of ourselves as humans and thus the talents he has created within us. Your oratory skill was surely given to you for the purpose of praising Him and helping others to thank Him for all the wonderful things He has given us. God bless you for recognising that talent and using it the way it was intended.
