Do you use the same brand of shampoo and conditioner?

I thought about this tonight while I was in the shower. I don't use the same brand of shampoo and conditioner. I don't think I've used the same brand since I was in middle school! I've just had to try a lot of different combinations of shampoo's and conditioners to see what has worked for my hair. Hardly any of the brands on the market today really work for my hair and keep my hair looking nice. So, I finally settled on using a Head and Shoulder's shampoo with a Treseme conditioner. The conditioner is an anti-breakage one because my hair is so long I have a tendency for my hair to break so I need all the help I can get. So what about you? Do you tend to stick with the same brand of shampoo and conditioner or are you like me and mix and match your choices? Or, are you the type that doesn't really care as long as your hair ends up clean and looking good?

I use the same brand. I have used herbal essence for years. I love the way it makes my hair smell and feel. I always get compliments on how my hair and my daughters hair is the softest feeling hair they have came across.

I don't always use the same brand conditioner as shampoo, but I do believe that some brands are better than others and they are not always the most expensive ones either. The Garnier Fructis Shine does a better job than anything I've ever tried. Before it came out I liked some of the "silk" ones but found that the cheap brands were not any place near as good as the famous one. A cup of vinegar does just as well as most of the overpriced products they want us to buy to get the shampoo build-up out.

I usually try to use the same brand of shampoo and conditioner because I read somewhere that they are made to work together. Not sure but I try to use the same.

I always seem to stick with the same shampoo and conditioner. I have thought about mixing and matching though. Treseme conditioners work awesomely but the shampoos sometimes work better for my hair. Not sure why. But I do like to find what cleans and protects my hair the best.

Hi angel, I have tried using Pantene shampoo and conditioner but I also mix after consuming it all since if I will stick to one brand of shampoo, I tend to have some dandruff so, if I have the same brand this month, I will mix it by the next time I will buy!

I also don't use the same of shampoo and conditioner. I like to experiment as well, on what shampoo and conditioner would be more preferable and good for my hair. I think I only once try to use same brand and didn't quite like the effect on my hair. So since then, I always use different brand for my shampoo and conditioner. And as well as often change my brand, if ever I think it wasn't that good for my hair anymore. I agree with you, it seems brands that are available in the market nowadays, aren't work that great with my hair. Hardly get a good brand that might suits me well. So, I often mix n' match brands that I think will suits my hair just fine.

Hi hfangel, I had kept long hair before and I understand that it's not easy to take good care of it. Anyway we have to spend extra time and more care to keep it always silky and healthy. Currently I’m using the same brand of shampoo and conditioner as well. I usually would shift to other brand after finishing them. It’s impossible for me to finish both the two bottles of dove shampoo and conditioner at the same time, so it’s quite normal that I have to use two different brands of the said items for a short period. posting and take care.

Hi hfangel, I’m really happy to know that I have received a BR today while checking mail, here I would like to express my gratitude to you for awarding me the best response. Now my hair has become longer and I’m happy with the conditioner using currently for it makes my hair silky and easy to take care. Without using any conditioner my hair would drop easily while having hair washing and combing as well. posting and have a great day.

I usually use the same shampoo for about 3 - 4 months at a time. I don't really care about the conditioner I use. I rarely use it anyway. Only when I feel like it. And yes, I am one of those who "doesn't really care as long as your hair ends up clean and looking good". LOL!

I only use cruelty-free products, so my selection is a bit more narrowed, but yes I do use the same brand shampoo and conditioner. I love Giovanni! It's a great organic and non-animal-tested brand. It's slightly higher priced, but it's a great product and I think it's well worth it. Sometimes I use different varieties, such as the Tea Tree Oil Triple Treat shampoo and use the Clarifying Conditioner, so in that sense I may use different shampoo and conditioner, but it's the same company/brand.

I usually by the conditioner and shampoo the same but end up using different ones sometimes since I am always running out of conditioner first. I use a Avon brand that is like head and shoulders but I use a suave conditioner orange scented with it.

I was thinking about that the other day as well. I actually don't use the same brand. I use Head and Shoulders shampoo and Tresemme conditioner too, but the Anti-Sponge one because it controls frizziness. I try a bunch of different stuff though cause I'm trying to find what works better for me.
