So I have never really had any expiriences with police other than the time I got pulled over when I was picking my mom up from the hospital. That time that I got pulled over the officer was really nice and asked what I was doing in that neighborhood. I guess it was a bad neighborhood with a lot of drug activity . But I just explained that Ipicked uo my mom from the hospital and I was looking for a freeway entrance. He gave me directions and he didn give me a ticket. At first he had a little bit of an attitude like he didnt believe me but I guess when he saw my mom in the back seat he saw I wasnt lying.
The second time I saw I was near a police officer I had a realy bad expirience. My aunt called saying she couldnt find her daughter and aksed me to drive to her bfs house. So I did and when we got there my cousins bf called the police because I guess my cousin didnt want to go home and since she is 18 my aunt couldnt make her. But when I was talking to the officer telling him that I was just there with my aunt to give her a ride and make sure my cousin was ok, my cousins bf startd to yell at me and when I yelled back the officer grabbed me by shirt and told me to calm down if I didnt want to go to juvi. Then he said he would arrest me for disrespecting an officer,Which made me laugh because I told him I was old enough to go to jail LOL..i know Im retarded. neways the cop was all rude to me and didnt say anything to my cousins bf. So me and my aunt left and the cop followed me til I got in the freeway. But i was pretty mad but Icalmed down. I mean we were there to make sure my cousin was ok..I understand shes 18 and all but we wer just worried, and the cops treated us like we were criminals.
I dont mean to offend any police officers out there and if I did SORRY! But like I said my other expirience was a pleasant one:] LOL
Now I was wondering what kind of expiriences you have had with police and I was wondering if you were treated with respect.
THANKS ALL ..and sorry for the long post!!

Yeah some cops can be so cocky and use there power to abuse some people. I dont understand how could they be an officer for they truly not a good example to everyone. I have seen some cop pissed us off intentionally because they knew they can do it and theres nothing we can do about it. They were like holding us for hours and we didnt even know why they are riding so slow for hours! and we need to follow them miserably wishing they would finally go away and let us go home. Sometimes cops abuse there power and i wish that politicians should also implement a law that will punished these bad cop.

Hi BriNbai, First of all there is nothing wrong with long posts, I rather like it because you can get the whole picture of what the person is saying. The police are like the rest of us and have their good and bad days and their own personal problems. We have to remember also that like in all professions, there are some police officers that should not be doing that job and some will always be arrogant or just plain dishonest. I've had two experiences with the police and in both cases they were reasonable and I feel that I was treated with respect at both times. Blessings.

I have never had a bad experience with a cop, of course now I live with one lol. But even before that, I can't remember ever being stopped by a cop for anything. But I do know that they will treat you with respect as long as you don't pull an attitude with them. And keep in mind they have heard just about every excuse for everything under the sun, I have to admit some excuses given to cops are pretty funny. lol

Like I said, the first expirience I had with an officer was pretty nice. He was really cool, calm and once he realized I wasnt there to do anything bad he just let me go without a ticket. But yeah I had a friend who got pulled over for speeding and his excuse to the officer was that his fries were going to get cold before he made it to his house if he didnnt speed LOL

hi the only exp;eriences I have had with a cop was a good one. the steering mechanism broke on the old car we had, and we
were in the turn lane. So we had to sit there with a zillion cars honking behind us until two police officers caeme up. they managed to shove our car around the turn and into a service station. They were very courteous to us and we couldnt have asked for better treatment.Treat the police with respect and they will be courteous to you back. dont ever yell at anyone when you are in the position you were in as that can be misunderstood.

I understand you completely the reason why is when I was really young the cops
were at the corner of my street and asking me all kinds of questions what was
going on at the house? I sat in back seat of the car when they were asking me my
dad found out what was going on he told me to off and get home he went over to
the police station and told it was not call for if want to know anything ask him
and not me..They were spying on us for no reason at all so now I do not trust to
many of them after that...that is only one time theres allot more but it take to
much to type so I will get back again....

I haven't had many "run-ins" with policemen, thank goodness. I did get a warning once when a new woman (young) policewoman claimed I went through a stop sign. I think I just didn't come to a full stop, but didn't argue. But she was really snippy and it got me a little upset since I have such a good record. But driving the rest of the way home I realized she was new and wanted to make her speech probably. I am sure in your situation, first it was a "domestic dispute" call and those are always iffy for policemen (I have an uncle who is a retired cop and two friends who are cops, one in big city and one in small town), and that tempers were high all the way around. In those situations, from cop's point of view, they don't know who is lying and who is telling the truth, etc I am sure. It bothers me that he grabbed you by the shirt though! Not the way to calm a situation! I am sorry you had to go through that when you were only trying to help. Hope you never have to again!

If you knew a policeman personally you would realize that they come to view all of us as guilty first, and only one of the good people when proofed. Most of the people that they deal with are guilty of something. And they must always be alert for threats to their lives. If any of us lived that way we would become
hardened to people and on alert when we first met them. If you are retarded you stand out in any crowd which may not be fair but is fact. Just remember that a policeman doesn't know you and be patient with them.

Good cop is rare.I think face of a police is almost same in the whole world. When a cop wear uniform and batton in his or her hand he or she changed completely. The cop think every thing is under control of him or her.I'm saying this in experience of my country(Bangladesh).I don't take any help from a police.
The result become opposite. If you see TV news you must observe the same action of police of any country. The behaviour of police must be changed. Police should be friend of general public.Thank you for this topic.

I think everywhere we go, there will be good n bad cops. It's normal. I guess you're just being unlucky to have met such cops. I've yet to meet any (touch wood). But I've met many unprofessional and BLUR cops who are not sure about the things they are supposed to do!
