I have read the bible before but only Genesis and I haven't finished even half of it. But I would like to read the bible. I can't remember any verses because I don't have any favorite verse yet. I think I should read the bible so that I would know some verses and also to learn lessons from it. To know what GOD wants us to do and to know what to do. And help me think and do decisions on what GOD wants for me.

Some parts can be a bit boring... especially the Mr. X lived one million and 9 thousand years part.

It's been a long time since I read the whole bible. When I attended this one church for many years, we went through the whole bible in a bible study course. Now when I read, I just start with a book and chapter I want to read again. Or, sometimes I look something up in my concordance and I'll read the whole chapter so I understand it better. My favorite verse? Gee, that's hard, there's so many of them that are good. I think my favorite one of all is 'blessed are the peacemakers.'

I read the Bible, but not as a whole front to back. It is rather hard to do since so much is left up to interpretation, and each time you read It, it has a different meaning or a view as our world proves time and time again. I have many favorite verses one of the being The Lord is my Shepherd. I like the prodical son since it pertains to all of us during our life and how we continuasly come full circle again and again back to God. Sometimes we are closer to Him and others wer are at the bottom of the circle for a while until we are led back up the hill.

I have not read the whole bible as in read it like a novel if that is what you are asking. I usually go along different chapters from time to time using the a guide. My favorite verse would be the ever famous "for God so love the world that he gave his only begotten son" that would be John 3:16.

i have read some part of the bible and most of it are the story of his fellowers, the experiences with the presence of god.
My husband was the first to encourage me to read the bible and do some church visit and also we do bring the bible in which we are studying the verses and chapters.

I can't say that I have read the WHOLE Bible. I have intended to many times and tried and tried and even had a plan for how I was going to get it done but it always seems something happens or gets in the way of it. So I have only ready some of the books. Probably, half of the books in the old testament and maybe 3 books of the new testament. I really like the new testament especially Matthew and Mark. Hopefully one day I will be able to read the whole Bible from cover to cover. We will see. But I know Revelation is hard. I have started that book many many times but I always get lost. The wording always messes me up. I have such a hard time understanding it. It is so deep. Maybe if I try a different bible like a young adult bible and read revelation there and then go to my NIV and read it again it will help me translate it.

Hey sweetie,
Not me.
I have a bible sitting there... and it's just gathering dust (sorry!).
I have read about a third or half but hey, I am not a Christian so you can't sue me for not being more diligent. Neither would excommunication work on me, ha!

I have read the whole bible a couple of times, but Marcia, don't let anyone make you feel bad because you haven't. Sometimes I think God leads us where He thinks we need to be in the Word. I know people who can quote you book, verse and all the details of just about anything in the bible. Does this mean they are saved, no, it means they have good memories. My favorite verses in the bible are ICorinthians 13:1-13, dealing with having love. I also like chapter 14. There are many more I love, Like Ephians, where Paul is telling men and women how they should treat each other. The whole book of Luke, I love the way he wrote, with understanding and care. Last but not least, I like Revelations, most people are afraid of it, they say it scares them to read it. The thing is they are not looking at it the right way, instead of a book of doom, Revelations is a book of promise, it tells what will come to pass for sinners, but it also tells us the promises of living our lives for Christ, as they say, this story does have a happy ending. By the way, did you find out what the pastors wife was talking about? Blessings Marilyn
