I have been reading many posts about the review sites and I am wondering if it is worth joining any of them..if you belong to any maybe there is a site that you could recommend,a site that is honest and upfront.I have never written a review before so it would all be very new to me,ie how long the reviews have to be..how they have to be worded..what sort of products they are for..how much sites pay per review..how to get your review used..so has anyone any advice for me?

There are so many review sites out there and I am a member of several...the most obvious one being Ciao which pays you per review. The rate you are paid per review depends on how many community points you have gained and what level you have reached. I am a member of both the UK and american version and can state that the american version does pay much better and via paypal as well. The english version pays not so well and only pays through bank transfer. Dooyoo is another one I often use as it pays 50p per review and 1.5p for every rating recieved. I have no problem gaining about a pound each for each review. When you reach £50 on this site they send out a check or amazon voucher at £10 depending which you want. There is a shopping review site which only starts paying you once you have reviewed a hundred shopping outlets. I am new to this site so can't comment too much. There's also epinions but am yet to earn anything on this.

You seem to talk quite highly of ciao,I suppose the hitch is that I really have no idea how to write a review, and if you havenever tried the product it would be even more difficult. But thankyou for the info.

Ciao.com seems to be the most popular one at the moment and it is paying. I have also noticed it is easy to reach the minimum $5 payout with 5 reviews! You just search the site for products you may own to begin with, write about them and that's it.. There's various categories including movies and films too so you can review any you've watched too

I tend to start with how I came to buying the item, how much it cost, the good things about it, the bad then if I thought it was worth what I paid for it.. For movies, series and the like..I tend to write about the cast, what it's about, whether I enjoyed it, whether I own it and whether I think it was worth what I paid or worth watching in cinema People have different styles, so best to check for products you own and see if people have done them justice with their reviewsHope that helps..

I write for a couple which always pay out and are easy to get the nhang of - the best one probably for a first timer would be dooyoo which pays 50p for the review and then everytime somebody rates the review you earn again on. I have earn a fait bit with them in the less than a year and they pay way more than sites like this!! It is very easy to get the hang of and you only need 150 words to actually submit a review that will pay on pretty much anything you like - I think you are UK like me aren't you so if you join let me know and I'll aret some of your reviews to get you started and also be able to help should you need it! x

I joined review stream this October (Oct 1 to be precise) and I've just reached the minimum payout a few days ago. I requested for payment today, but they haven't processed it yet. Someone said that Review Stream really pays so I'm hoping that they'll send me the payment soon. It's a good place to earn more money. I've made more on RS than I've earned here on mylot to think that I've been a member since May! I do think you should join one review site if you have time to write 3-5 articles a day. :)

There are alot of review sites out there that are totally legitimate. There's review stream where you write reviews of products, movies, music, restaurants, recipes, etc. Their minimum payout is $50 and they pay thru paypal. I've already been paid by them. Another site is Ciao. Here you get $1 for every review you submit. You can also review products, movies, appliances etc. As long as it is on their list of things to review. They pay thru paypal.

there are many sites where you can review the products or hotels, places you visited and more. i am presently only at ciao and is the site where you have to review the products and it is nice and here the pay per review is good and is about $1 and it will really not require much time to write and there are wide variety of producta and if you have used it you can review it or else there is a category of movies also where i can do more and i think most of the people do that more. and i have also heard of the people getting paid from here and i have to still get paid and i am still waiting for my first pay. but this site is good and you can do more in less time, here also you have to rate reviews , and also you can make friends and rate eachothers reviews, which will increase your earnings.

How did you get on with the review sites Ruby? Did you join any? I got as far as looking at Caio once, but ended up more confused than I started out!

Oh Ruby, I'm so sorry to hear about your little dog. As you say, twenty is a fine old age for a dog and I doubt there was ever a dog less wanting for love and attention. I'm sure he's gone off to some better doggie place now where he can spend all day rolling in offensive smells, chewing juicy bones and chasing tail. I still haven't got internet access at home, so I'm not on myLot as much as I'd like. I still pop on to respond to my friends discussions though as often as I'm able. Keep in touch mate, and I'll let P1key know you said hello.

Golly gosh! Just reading throuhg some of the older posts and noticed this one re the loss of our dear little dog. Three years on and we still miss him. Months after losing him a dear little sleek black cat began to camp out under a tree in our back garden. This sleek black cat was not as daft as it looked.. the nights grew colder and it began to look perished but still it camped out under the tree. One night Mr ruby could stand it no more and he invited the cat on for a warm up...one thing led to another, the cat decided that it was time to hang up his sofa-surfing boots and take up residency in our humble abode. Now Santa has to deliver a cloth mouse...I rest my case.

Hello Moo, my little chicken. Im afraid that times been a little limited lately, so no very much of anything at all! Sadly we lost our little dog on New Years eve, as you know Moo Mr Ruby and I adored him, but then he was nearly 20 so we were lucky to have had him for so long. How is life with you Moo? Christmas and New Year came and went and I didnt notice it had passed me by. Are you participating on Mylot again now? PS If you see the Pike around do give him my regards.
