Do you put your TV on even if you aren't watching?

Yuppers. Usually im at the computer and the tv is on in the background with some sort of music on..or hubby is home and watching movies so i hear those..but yes it is always on..lol

That's true masmasika.. Even if I'm not watching the television it must be on because I have to hear that somebody is talking or anything to not fell so lonely inside the house.. right now besides I'm typing, the tv is on and the radio is tunned on some station where good music can be heared..

sometime i put my tv on even though i am not watching it because i just want to hear the news that on the air while doing something else. there are also times that i put on the tv just to make some noise.lol..

Yeah, I do this all the time when I'm all alone. It's just like you said, having "human" company amidst isolation. It's not good though because of electricity consumption and you know, the risk of radiation all the time.

Hi Masmasika! I seldom watch TV at home. Basically, I spend more time surfing internet than watching TV. For me, I will keep my notebook online 24/7 even I am not at home or sleep! So, you may call me "net worm" to some extent. Have a nice day!

same here with me. even im infront of the computer and the rest of the house is asleep, i just leave the television on, so i could still listen to it. i dont wanna miss both my pc and tv.

Im guilty of this as well. I usually turn it on and listen to music on my dvd player. Or sometimes just turn on anything just for the noise, like when my daughter is asleep or at school.....when she is home or awake, there is never a shortage of noise.....lol

I turn it on first thing in the morning, even when I'm doing things I still leave it on. I like to listen to it when i"m on the computer, then when something interesting comes on I go and watch.

yes, i always have multiple tv's going in the house! lol i am the same way- i need the noise- even with the kids home, i just need something in the background. it is pretty bad, though- if we all go out somewhere, the minute we get back home the first thing i will do is turn the tv on!

yea i do that alot unconsciously akward enough. I will go and get like on the computer, turn on the tv and just get involved in a game or something. I never truly realized that until now to be honest. I fully agree with you and probably should be practiced across USA. You need to have the feeling that your not alone, but also it is more of a security factor also It just like shows that your not to steal the movies name "home alone".
