Do you think paretns are the best teachers or not?

We have many teachers in our life.Our parents teache us,our teachers teach us,our friends teach us.Books and newspaper also teach us.They are all valuable.And many people in our country say parents are the best teachers, do you think so?As teachers,i think parents have their own advantages and disadvantages.
For most people,parents are the first people they met.They spent the longest time with their parents when they were young.Parents provide a far-reaching impacts on their children.Kids are curious about eveything aroud them and eager to learn.They sorb knowledge like a sponge.They actually learn a lot from their parents especially before they go to school.In this way,parents really have an important influence on kids.
Well,i am really appreciated that i have a good realation with my parents.They are so generous,kind,nice and knowledgable.Without them,i can't become what i am now.They told me be honset,be kind,be responsable,be studious when i was young.They've supported me all the time,given me necessary criticism,tought me a great deal about how to live my life.They reallay play an important role in my life.
But on other side,they have limitations to teach their kids.They love their children so much so that they alway see their children though an eye of a protector.
They may often overreact about somethings.For example,teachers may see a trip to other city as a good experience for kids.However,it seems dangerous to parents.And most parents expect their children's interest to be similar to their own.They hope their children would become that kind of people they wish be.They think that's the best way for kids to go.But what if the kids don't like their parents' intersest?what if they don't like the way their parents have arranged for them?And parents are so earger to pass on their values to their children.But i think different generations may have different way of thinking.For many young people,they believe their parents are right,but they get older,they will have their own views.They may have many different friends with different background in school and find their parents have narrow views.So they don't think their parents are right.That would block parents' way to teach kids.
So what's your opinion?Do you think parents are the best teachers or not?

Well, it really depends on the parents.. not all parents are good people. So then, they might not be teaching their child the right things!

I agree with you.For some parents,they don't behave well in front of their children.That would give kids a bad impression and an bad influence.

I think that parents have the potential to be the childs best teachers. I think that parents are definitly the most influential but not always the best role models. Our children tend to model our behaviors and attitudes so parents who have bad attitudes and are mean and not very smart would definitly have to work extra hard to be a good role model to their kids. I personally try very hard to be a good role model for my daughters. I try to teach them all that I can. I push academics, self respect, and to respect others. I think that to have a parent that wants to be a good role model and that gives their kids all they need to succeed in life, yes definitly the best teachers our kids can have.:-) Hope this makes sence, I'm really tired and I think I'm rambling!

Yes,i agaree with you.Children like to imitate their parents .They like to do things in the way their parents do.So i think parents should give their children a good role model.Don't behave inappropriately in front of children.

yes i t hink so I think I am who I am today because of my parents they taught me alotin my life an still teaching me even though I am 42

Parents are the best teachers because they teach life. It is through their relationship that the children learn so much, be it positive or negative setting of examples. Children learn through words or instructions and the most effective teaching of parents are the traits, behavior they displayed to their children. . . children are the image of their parents, in looks, manners, behavior and in relating oneself to another. So, unconsciously, the children followed the very example of life of their parents. Only very few doesn't want to follow the bad examples of their parents, but majority of the children really followed what they saw and heared.

I think that parents CAN be the best teachers if they are good role models for their children and encourage their children to de and be the best that they can be. I think, as a parent it is important to encourage my children to express their opinions in a healthy way, even if I disagree with them. Just because a childs views are often different from the parents, doesn't mean they are wrong.

All children need the love and support of their parents, but outside the home they should be allowed to absorb knowledge and information that will enable them to form their own ideas and opinions.
Parents may try to influence the child, but as you say, children will absorb information and knowledge from other experiences.
I think parents should teach their children how to behave well, and teach them to know right from wrong, but no-one should try to force only their own views onto their children.

I definitely agree that parents are the best teachers. Parents build the foundation to make their children be better people and strive for success. Most of the time, when there is a student that does well, they have strong support at home from parents. On the other hand, when parents could care less, their children are the same way, so it's incredibly hard for anybody else to teach them.
Teachers can do a great deal to impact kids in many positive ways, but, without good parents teaching them HOW to be successful, we wouldn't have same effect on them.

alot of it depends on the parents i would suppose, there is a lot that parents can teach their children if the so choose. A lot would also depend on how you want your child brought up as well, and what type of influences you want in your childs life. But i think that there really isn't any BEST teacher, everyone has something different and unique to add to what every child needs to know, and there isn't really any way to measure which way or method is the best, depends on the child as well and how they learn

Yes, I certainly believe that they are! But it`s just a matter of how would a certain parent would teach their kid/s... Brighter future really depends on how you`re going to teach your child today.
And why do I certainly believe that they are? Because whatever the parent do, the child follow... Get me? I mean whatever example you teach your child and whatever example that they`ll be able to see in you, they would surely follow. So better be watchful and careful with your actions and words and better teach them those that would surely benefit them... for it will lead them to who they are in the future!

Let me add few practical things. Parent are the best teacher! really. If you are thinking in that way so it is time to check out following -
1. Are you good understanding.
2.Can keep their cool.
3.Have a sense of humor.
4.Are you inherently fair minded.
5.Have a common sense.
6.Have a command on the content they learn from school.
7.Are you putting high expectation and hold child to these expectations.
8.Are you details oriented with the child issues.
If you(parents) think on these aspects in broadly, I am sure parents can became best teacher
