I got my first email address in the late 1990's. I was so inexperienced with the computer/Internet that I didn't even know how to check my email. My next email address was from AOL and I used that constantly until my computer crashed. I still have two active AOL email addresses that I check on occasion, but now I use Gmail and Yahoo email more. When did you get your first email address?

My first email address was in college. It was just whatever the University provided. And then I had Angelfire until they just quit or whatever. Since then, I have had Yahoo, Hotmail, and Gmail! :)

I got my first e-mail address in 1998. I logged onto a computer in Wiarton Ontario, and then eventually I got my new computer and the internet at home, and was able to use the computer where I lived, in my hometown, and not at any library. I got my e-mail address while staying with my aunt for a few days.

Ironically, I got my first email account while visiting the library. I didn't get regular Internet at home for another seven years.

I got my first email address in the 90s too (I was in middle school). My parents had signed up for AOL. We had the slow dial-up modem but I was so excited to be able to connect with people online. These days I use gmail and yahoo. I also still have my old email account from school. I don't use AOL anymore, but I still use AIM occasionally.

I got my first email address in October of 1998. I'll never forget it. The company I had just started with wanted to be online. So I set it all up. Back then it was just a dial up connection. As a matter of fact, I had dial up until 2005. So I have only been on high speed for 3 years. I liked the broadband connection, but just recently went to a wireless connection because of the community that I am living in. Believe it or not with the NetGear usb connector, my connection is actually faster than it was with broadband cable. It's great. By the way, I still use that same email address that I originally opened 10 years ago this month as my main email account! I didn't realize it had been 10 years until I started typing this. Thanks for starting this discussion. Hope you have a great day!

I think i got my first email address in 1999... and that was from eudoramail... i wanted yahoo because that was the most popular then... but for some reason... my registration won't go through... so the assitant in the computer shop suggested that i use eudora... and it was successful... but i already lost that because i forgot the password years ago... so now... i am using yahoo mail...

I got my first email address since 1997. I started to use internet since that. I still use this email address until now because I don't like often changing email address. It's like changing mobile phone number. I don't want to contact all the people about it and they may not keep it well. After time goes by, it's easy for us to lose contact. I love China

Hi there beauty queen. I think i joined the internet in 1998 or 1999. I had the computer since 1996 but i did not have internet until the late 2004, so i visited an internet cafee and made an email address there. I think my first adresses were yhoo and hotmail, but now i use yahoo and gmail as well.

It was probably about 1998. I was about 11 years old and my mom wouldn't let me go on the computer without supervision really. I got on to play games and such. But I finally wanted my own Email to feel "grown up" so my mom set up my own AOL email. It was the kids one where most everything except their kids section was blocked. But I was SO excited! LOL

I got my first email address in 1999. I was a senior in high school and I set it up in the school library. I have always been pretty interested in computers so it is kind of surprising to me that it took so long. I guess my family was always kind of behind the times as far as technology goes. My parents didn't get the internet until well after I had left for college.

I think I got my first email address in 1994 and just used my first and last name which was pretty handy as I know lots of people who weren't able to just get their full names and have had to add some digits after their chosen name. I also managed to get yahoo.co.uk email addys for my real name years ago and funnily enough I went a bit crazy and signed up with as many email programs as possible with my name haha - only use hotmail now and occasionally log into the yahoo account - when I'm signing up for something I give the yahoo address cos then the junk mail can ALL go there!

I got my first email at the same time that I first learned to use the internet in 1999. I've still got the email although I rarely use it. I just can't seem to get rid of it. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

I got my first email address back in the 90's. My sister set it up for me. It was a usa.net email address. I stopped having it when they decided they were going to start charging people for having there email addresses there.

I got my first email address when I first got my computer, I have forgotten the year and the date. An employee from the cable company came and wired my house for the installation and he set and connected my computer and set up me an email address with my internet carrier.
