When you write/print, does it slant forwards, backwards, or not at all?

Mine is pretty much straight up and down, tending towards backwards. I also write somewhat 'loopy'. I've read handwriting analysis books before and am not sure how true the concepts in those are. Based on analysis, a backwards slant means you are more of an introvert (quiet) and that is not how I (or others) would describe me. There is also the matter of pressure - I do not press hard when I write. Based on analysis, heavier pressure = stronger personality. Again this does not measure up as true using myself as a guinea pig. What do you think about your own writing? Is it an accurate representation?

Oh, I used to be soo into graphology but the more I got into it the more complicated it became and I ran into some contradictions that I couldnt understand. Not to say that the analysis of handwriting is illegitimate but I do believe it takes much scrutiny and precision. There is a list of at least 7 characteristics that must be factored in (like you said, pressure, slant, does the loop touch top of line or fall below it, etc). Another thing is that the slant is not the same the whole way and changes according to the subject of what is being written and can indicate things. I think its so interesting and really found it interesting to analyze the handwriting of more famous figures like Winston Church Hill or Ted Bundy. For my Virgo-self its like getting into a box of candy. My slant is more to the right which could indicate that Im lean away from the past but to say it is that easy I wouldn't agree but surely that is one part of it given my dysfunctional past, lol. I also have very heavy handwriting. oh boy.

I'm a virgo too.. LOL! I actually like my writing, it's very legible, in fact a lot of people will tell me it's nice, even if it looks sloppy to me. I'm a bit of a perfectionist though, but I've gotten over that enough that I will still do things that are not perfect, I just feel a little stressed if TOO many things are not perfect.

Hey mommyboo! I know that this discussion isn't supposed to be funny but it made me laugh! From what I know of you and you know I love you, and your description of your writing, you an introvert!lol! Now, I'll describe mine and you tell me what I am! I have the worst, I mean the WORST! handwriting ever! I can't even read it myself! It is illegible, messy, horrible, scrawy, small, slants forward! Ok, well? I can't wait to have my analysis! I'll be waiting.....

Well like I said, I used to be shy. I would never describe myself as an introvert though, and neither would most of the people who know me, including my husband or my kids. While it's true I don't enjoy drawing undue attention on myself for no reason (and God forbid you smack my butt!) I don't hide in the corner and going out is generally as attractive to me as staying in. I do not recall what the book said about illegible writing EXCEPT that it may be a coping mechanism - if people can't read it, then people will leave you alone rather than try to read it, and then THAT can be used as an excuse not to meet people, etc (that whole - I don't like them.. and they aren't trying to get to know me so they don't like me anyway). Slanting forwards is one of those 'big personality' traits, and also maybe indicates more energy. That was another thing that went hand in hand with being a people person. The small part I thought mean attention to detail, but neatness also means attention to detail. I think there are so many different things at work here, I would need a sample of your handwriting lol!

Mine slants forward and not real heavy pressure whatever that may mean lol I defintly tend to write fast and have to be careful so others can read it lol hehehehheh I am trying to be neater.

Wow, I guess I never really thought about my handwriting, besides the fact that its messy!!!(lol) I write loopy, and slant backwards and everywich way, so I wonder what that says about me.I guess it is an accurate representation of me. All over the place and I never stay the same at any given point in the day....

I am trying to remember what the book said about different directions of slant. I think it had something to do with being adaptable, changing your plans without worrying too much about it.

I once read a book about handwriting analysis, and I found it very interesting. I think my writing slants somewhat to the left, but it usually is kind of straight and I am in introvert very much so. I do press sort of hard and sort of lightly so I think I'm in the middle for that one. My lines somewhat overlap, and I heard that if the letters on the top line touch the ones on the bottom, you do not think before you act, and it's correct for me, I do not plan very much!

It is possible that the slant of your writing has to do with how your internal personality is set. I USED to be shy and from time to time in some situations, I am NOT the party girl, even if I can act it. Soo... maybe it is a true barometer of how you are, and many of us just have changed how we act.

My handwriting is pretty much up and down, very neat, and I press very hard. I am more of an introvert, and do have a strong personality. Don't know if that fits in with the theories...but either way I don't think they're true at all. None of the ones I have read have ever been true for more than a few people I know, though I don't believe in horoscopes or anything like that either. I defeinitely wouldn't ry to come to conclusions about your personality based on your hadnwriting: you are who you are, no matter what your handwriting looks like!

The whole analysis thing was interesting to me because when I was younger my writing was completely different than what it was like as I got older. I can almost say it was opposite. I have some samples of writing from when I was probably... 9? 10? It slanted forward, the middle zone was very small, and it was slightly sloppy. Kind of like very small calligraphy but not very neat. Fast forward a couple years, no more slant, large middle zone, overall just larger writing, very curvy, loopy, and very neat... and my pressure deteriorated, I had to stop using pencil because it wrote too light. I don't use two-part checks because I can't write hard enough to leave a receipt lol.

Mine slants forward, quite a bit. Long and more angular and less loopy.I go quite down or up for letters that require it and "t"s are crossed closer to the top. Medium pressure. Not really sure what I can say in terms of handwriting analysis because I haven't checked.

My writing is not very good. I started printing in primary school as I could not take notes fast enough with looped writing. I also do not hold the pen properly as I do what ever works speed wise so after years of taking notes in school and Uni. My printing slants backwards and yes I am an introvert and I am fairly quiet most of the time but I had to learn to be outspoken over the years and now if I see unfair treatment I will stand up and say something even though it gives me butterflies in the stomach. I also press quite hard when I write and I tend to be a strong personality.
