Back in my elementary years, my favorite games were teks and pog. I would usually go roaming to other rooms inviting or challenging other kids to play teks or pog with me. Most of the times I got reprimenaded by my school teachers because I spent more time playing than staying in the classroom. During the afternoon, when it's dismissal time, I would also play tumbang-preso and patintero. I miss those times when I played those games especially the traditional Filipino games. Now, my younger cousins in the elementary and high schools have video and computer games for fun. How about you guys? What childhood games do you remember to have played before?

I think I have also played those kind of games before during my younger days at school. Teks or that Pog was considered innocent gambling since the game would often have bets involved.. well, any game that has bets on it is considered gambling anyway.
For physical games, I would often play along with friends at home or classmates at school. Langit-Lupa, Patintero, even Piko or hopscoth but, I was really good at Tagu-taguan or hide-and-seek, I was very good in hiding. Luksong baka and Luksong tinik were a bit more rough-housing. Other games like sipa became popular way back and when I got to enroll for a PE in collge, I tried Sepak Takraw.

Some of the games I enjoyed that much were tumbang preso, patintero, sipa, piko, hide and seek.those were really games I played with my siblings, cousins, neighbors and classmates. It is so nice recalling and reminiscing all those childhood days playing in the street with them even we didn't have the so called subdivision's playground then.Yeah,I've noticed most of the games kids play now are online, sedentary games!I now realized how lucky we were then, playing under the sun ,no worries being sun-burned,even without the monitoring eyes of our parents and our whole part of our bodies moving(sort of exercise).Yes,had even a one or two rounds of games during recess time LOL...those were our happy childhood games

One of my favorites was taguan and cops and robbers. I like those hide and seek as well as tag you're it games because you get to play with a lot of friends. I don't think video games could ever replace the fun we had for these games.

Catching the grasshoppers or some spiders to let them fight each other. :D Or the one we called "balloon" which consist of 2 teams, 5 on each side - the defender and the attacker. The defender moves in a straight line and if they touched the attacker, the attacker will go out.

I love patintero because it's simple and a lot of kids can participate in it. I agree with you that it's sad most children today are into videogames which are less personal. I think they should encourage more traditional Filipino children's games in schools. It's good exercise, too

What games didn't I play when I was younger? I used to play marbles, pogs, every single board game you could name, nearly every card game you could name, and just about anything on the original Nintendo and Sega systems. I was born in the 1980's and I am an American, I had a lot of games and things to stimulate me when I was child.

My favorite as a kid was king of the hill or hide and go seek in a big forest somewhere. I grew up in south dakota so there was a lot of parks and forests to be found around the city. It was fun because almost all of the kids loved king of the hill.

There is this one game I can remember that was pretty cool at the time, it was called "CRAZY CLOCK" Do you remember a scene in the movie "BACK TO THE FUTURE II"? where the professor has this huge machine that made one ice cube? well Crazy Clock has a steel ball, and it goes through a maze of parts that sets off a chain reaction, and ends up kicking a guy out of bed lol. The game might be online.
