I love the show wife swap. I just wanted to share this one particular episode with you all as I found it so incredibly weird. One of the couples were convinced that there would be an apocolypse or some catastrophic event one day soon. That is not the weird part. They felt that in order to survive this event that one needed to be completly self sufficient. Again, not weird. The clencher was, the way they prepared for this event was by: eating everything raw. I mean everything. They ate raw chicken, pork, and beef. If they were feeling off one day, their way of cleansing themselves was to eat a piece of raw, 4 month old meat. They drank rotten milk and thats about it. They believe that water is a toxin and very bad for your body. They ate raw, rotten eggs. They believed that cooking anything would kill them. They brushed their teeth with clay and butter as toothpaste has harmful chemicals. They did not take a shower hardly ever. They did not clean their house cause they feel that bacteria of all kinds are good for you. They went straight from using the bathroom to milking their cow to preparing their raw meat dinner all without washing their hands. I just thought the entire time how incredibly weird all of this was. I personally enjoy higenic processes. I love cleaning myself and cooking my food. I could not imagine thinking I could solve all my mental health problems by eating a piece of 4 month old raw meat. Oh yeah, they had the toxic mold growing all over the walls in their house and thought that this was a good thing!!! What do you all think about this???

WOW! I have seen episodes of Wife swap and that is the most bizarre one yet.
I have not seen it, I am not sure if I could stomach it either, it is just plain weird.
I love to clean my home and cook a good meal, there is no way I would want to live like that,

The "normal people" started a little garden and I think the odd one may have showered or cleaned a little more but ultimately no. I hope you can find it, it was so weird...

I watch that sometimes too, I usually miss it because I can not remember what night it comes. That is rather bazaar. Did the swapped wife eat the raw meat too? I sorry, I do not care what the rules are, if I was the swapped wife, there is no way I would eat raw meat and rotten milk.

I have watched a few of these shows but nothing like that all I can think is EWWWWWWWWWW and who was the poor unlucky wife that had to get traded into something like that. Can you imagine the one that thinks it is normal to live like that going to a clean home where things are *gasp* actually cooked!
I would feel sorry for the one that is going there. *shudders* Makes you wonder about some people sometimes dont it?

I couldn't believe my eyes! And their children don't even attend school! Raw meat can kill a person! It is filled with Parasites, as Tape worm, and many others! I couldn't believe the hair on the Mothers legs! She hadn't bathe in years! They don't believe in it! The child Protective Services should remove these poor kids! I raise chickens and cattle, and I can't stress enough to cook your food thoroughly, to prevent Parasites. Why was that not brought up on the show? Crazy!

I also love to watch Wife Swap. I didnt see this one! Did she make the family she went to eat raw meat? I would be so mad if someone came into my house and did something like that.
I don't know where they find the people for this show. We watch it and I always end up thinking...we aren't so freaky after all:)

The "normal" husband did eat a piece of raw meat but it didn't show it on the show, it showed it at the end where they show extra clips. He refused at first to let his kids eat it but I think one of his kids actually did try some. I definitly would never ever put raw meat in my mouth. I am that person who has bitten into a piece of undercooked meat before and thrown up for hours. Ugggg

that family sounds absolutely disgusting. It makes me mad becasue the parents should know better. I don't know how they can raise their children in this manner. but I'm not really surprised. I've seen some really weird families on Trading Sposes and Wife Swap before. I really enjoy the show. It shows that there are so many different types of families. Everyone is different, and may not think the same way as everyone else I guess. I would hope that maybe that maybe each family could learn something from the other family. It seems like most of the time when they switch wives that each side has at least one thing that they could learn and benefit their family.

I know right! My husband says every time we watch it, "lets not ever do that, I couldn't live without you or with some of these wives on here". It's a real eye opener to the diversity in our culture.

UGH though its entirely grose and I would NEVER EVER EVER EVER do that, (I do INSIST on eating my meat cooked...i mean thats just gross) but when you let toxins reach your body, your body can build up an immunity to them, but seriously, the way they went about it, IS JUST SICK! I mean I love washing my hands, I love not feeling dirty... but eating everything raw...and the mold ... and the... JUST EWWWW

I know. I don't think I would have went along with that kind of a decision made by my parents. I mean, if my mom said one day that I don't need a formal education and no more cooked food and that if I was having an off day to eat some rotten meat, I would flip out! I would turn her into to cps myself!!!

Wow and Ewe!!! There is no way I could ever deal with this. Personally, this to me does not sound very sanitary at all, and I would think would be quite dangerous and possibly even kill someone. I missed this one, and in a way I am glad I did, and wonder what the New wife thought. This too me, sounds like someone that has gone a little too far for sure. Wonder if it drew some attention from Doctors, etc. from here?

I remember that episode! That was a very strange family. If that had been me, I would not have been able to stay with those people. It's making me gag just thinking about drinking rotten milk and old raw meat. Ugh!
As for the toxic mold, I hate to say it but I think one of them would have to get really sick for it to sink in that it's bad for them. And raw meat will not cure it!

Do you remember how they carried on when the other wife made them eat cooked food? That was hilarious. I wouldn't have been able to stay in that house either, let alone shower in their stream of water or prepare their raw food meals!

I think that I may have seen that episode a while back, but my opinion on that man that is just pure laziness and they just use that as an excuse to not do the every day normal things. I too love doing my hygene rituals every day and cooking. That is not healthy at all and I cannot believe that there are a lot of people out there that actually do things like that. But that episode has proved that there are people are out there that are like that.

I remember that bizarre episode too. They went out to eat at a normal cooked-food restaurant and the daughter ordered like chicken nuggets or something and was sick for the whole next day.
They claimed to have some mentor who was a nutritionist. I wonder if this nutritionist could be sued if anything happens to these people. It was JUST DISGUSTING!

I know and the dad had a mental breakdown and said she was trying to kill his kids, that they were DYING from that cooked meal... I'm not sure where they go for a nutritionist but mine have never suggested anything like this. I do wonder though, if they are the only people in america to do this. Seems like they would be but, the idea had to originate somewhere!

I think it is all crap. It is a figment of a wierdo's imagination. it is something rupulsive. if it was for real, they would not survive very long.

Yea they seemed to be ok, albeit a little sick in the head... The other wife actually took them to the doctor and the look on the doctors face was classic. He was a total loss for what to say to them. They said that there is no physical evidence that their diet is not healthy. I would think there definitly would be but I guess your body could adjust to that kind of diet and not have harmful side effects. Their teeth were looking pretty bad though, the gums were red and inflamed. I guess butter and dirt don't prevent gingivitis!!! LOL

Oh, I saw that one, also. Yikes. I mean I eat sushi on occasion, but as a steady diet? I don't think so. And then the family got sick from eating cooked meat? I wonder how much was power of suggestion? They thought the cooked food would make them sick, so it did.
I like the show, but some of the people are nuts.
If nothing else, it tends to motivate me to clean my house.

Good God, it's a wonder their still alive. They must have a h*ll of an immune system. I could never survive without using/drinking water...or eating raw meat for that matter. It sounds like this person has alot of serious mental problems and hopefully there are no kids around them. Probably the best thing for them would be some threapy to help them overcome their problem.

Wow that is crazy. I think that I am really glad that I did not see that episode. Those people are nuts I would have freaked out if I was the wife having to go into that house with their weird ways. That is an extreme wife swap if you ask me. I have only watched a few episodes including the ones I watched tonight. Its a good show.

Yuck. I haven't seen that episode. That is totally disgusting. Its bad enough the thought of eating raw meat. But to eat raw 4 month old meat. I am surprised they haven't got very sick. I am watching a family on Wife swap right now that is a family of pirates. They have some really strange families on that show sometimes. lol.
