Many years ago when my daughter was a toddler and I had her in the car with me. We where living on a military base and the speed limit was very slow. I was driving on a residential street and 3 little boys where playing on the side of the street. I was watching the two on my right when the third little boy on the left darted out in front of me. All I saw was his little body appearing in front of me as I ran over him. I stopped the car and ran back to where he lay. His shoe had been knocked off and looked so pitiful lying in the road. My immediate thought was that I had killed him. I was very fortunate in that I was driving a volkswagen and as it sits higher off the ground he was only stunned. I did not know that at the time and did not find out til later that day. I was totally hysterical and all I could do was hold my daughter and cry. I could not turn her lose she was my lifeline. After he was taken to the er I had to get in my car and drive it home. I did not have anyone to call for help I had to take care of myself.
You can not imagine my relief in finding out that that little fellow was alright
I still flinch when a see children on the side of the road and this happened over thirty years ago.

That's what you call trauma. It's really hard to get over it. It seems like it will keep haunting you even in your dreams. I had traumatic experiences too that keeps me awake at night and it also gives me the goosebumps just thinking that it might happen again.
I fell off the bus when I was 12 years old. I just came from watching a live basketball show and i rode the bus to get home. Someone hailed the bus to stop several steps before the bus stop. The bus pulled over slowly so the man could come up on the bus. In used the other door of the bus to go down where the diver can't see me. Well you know in my country, buses have two doors, the one on the side of the driver and the other one on the middel side of the bus. I used the latter so the driver didn't see. Just as the man got on the bus, the bus suddenly accelerated just when I was about to take my last step off it. I fell down of course and the next thing I knew I was lying on the street and people are towering over me asking if I'm okay. Wew. So whenever I hear some noise at night or when I hear even a small hint of breaks, I would awake from my sleep.

Wow, that surely hurts!!! Inagine you're only five and had your toe broken. But good thing you're still young when it happened because you had long years to recover from the pain. be careful next time okay?

Hi lady cayote. I also had the biggest motorbike accident so far back when I was in college. I was late for my first afternoon class that time so I had to hurry to catch up. I drove for about 90 mi/hr on a busy highway (which is a stupid idea lol) and I collided with a car head on. I broke bones in my right leg and had 3 fractured ribs. I had to sop school for a full semester because of it. It's still a good thing I was still alive and the guy in the car didn't file charges against me and helped bring me to the hospital instead.
P.S.
Kindly add me as a friend here at myLot if you don't mind. Thanks.
