Which is MORE harmful, to lack sleep or to oversleep?

depends how long! lack of sleep looks older and over sleep looking tired or feels tired.

I'm so glad! I don't believe that too much sleep can harm
you really! But, not enough sleep is bad! I should know!
It messes you up in alot of ways. It does dull your senses,
makes it hard for you to think, to function, to concentrate,
and I believe it even can weaken your immune system over
time. I say this because I have insomnia and it is a proven
fact that no sleeping does so harm to the body. I hav never
heard that sleeping too much does anything serious to a person's
body, at least not that I know of medically speaking. I guess
you could say that it would decrease your life span because you
sleep your life away???lol NO, I'M KIDDING!!! But, I will ask my
doc when I speak to him. I wish I knew because I saw him today!
Will be talking to him in a few days for test results so will
get back to you if I find out the answer!

I don't know which is worse. I know over sleeping you feel really badly like you are sick and have body pains and headache from over sleeping.
Not enough however, has many different affects to the bady, you are sluggish, very tired, can't think clearly, and many more. Have a terrific day selece.

I don't know for certain but it would seem to me that a lack of sleep is more harmful to your health. Your brain needs to go through all of the stages of sleep before it gets the deep sleep that it needs. The amount of sleep you need varies though. I get by fine on six hours per night...more than eight makes me feel sluggish.

i dont know!hhehehe i think it's both, so we better not do it..hehehe but i really cant help over sleeping sometimes!:) i always feel sleepy and everytime, i would really sleepy when i feel like one. I love sleeping.. especially during weekends and when i dont have so much things to do, i would definitely sleep and snore for as long as i like!hehehe if there are people who loves eating, i am the kind who loves sleeping!:)

I haven't heard about oversleeping decreasing one's life span. Anyway, I'm not sure which one is more harmful to us but I'd go with lack of sleep. Lack of sleep drains our energy, makes us weak and could even make us sick. Having less hours of sleep than what our body needs would make us function less or not function at all, physically, emotionally and mentally. We'd be moody, irritable and angry than we normally do therefore affecting our work and other as well.

Of course it's Lack of Sleep.
I love sleeping so if I do not get enough sleep.. I'll get grouchy.. cranky.. irritable and etc. So yea.. lack of sleep is harmful to me and my family and friends.
I never hear of that rumor before. I think everything in life must be in moderation. To me, I'll be happy with 8-10 hours of sleep.

Oversleeping is really harmful for your body.. If you sleep more, you will feel tired most of the time. Don't sleep more than 7 hours. keep posting take care and have fun..

Both are harmful but lacks of sleeps is more harmful. You feel dizzy,sleepy,weak,out of focus when lack of sleep but oversleep makes you kinda blur and lazy.
