Where does your computer live?

Where do you keep your computer? Or if it's a laptop, where do you use it most?
When we started renovating our house we decided to turn one of the bedrooms into a "media" room where we can have our computer and video games and such. I think that keeps us from spending too much time online or gaming. I feel like if we put the computer in the living room, at the centre of the house, we would be more likely to spend excessive time on it. Do you feel this way too? Why do you keep your 'puter where you do?

I keep my computer in the kitchen on a desk where everyone can use it and not bother anyone.

The idea is good, but I guess you kitchen must be really big...or is it the laptop that you keep in the kitchen? If I'm to keep the desktop in the kitchen, then I'm in trouble. Our kitchen is moderate in size, but a lot of masala cooking goes on, and I'm not sure whether our computer will be safe...

My laptop occupies my desk (so it's still technically a "desk"top hehe). My siblings and I have our own laptops so we can keep it in our room. I do feel that the ease of access makes me spend so much time on the computer. But I wouldn't have it any other way now that I've experienced having access to my laptop anytime. I don't have a tv in my room so it's not really a media room yet. :)

Hello there jessp
My laptop is now in my bedroom where it usually is actually. It does sit on a desk but as it is plugged into the printer I don't tend to move it much and it is awkward because the camera sits ontop to so it is a pain to move it anywhere else. I use the camer to skype my brother in Kuwait (I am in the UK) so since then I haven't taken my laptop to bed with me. I do sometimes take it down into the kitchen when I am doing dinner if I am waiting for an important email but rarely do I do this.

My computer is right in my own room. The reason is because it is more convenient for me because sometimes I do my work until late night and I could just fall back on bed and sleep until next morning. Then in the morning, I could just wake up and continue with my work. My work place is messy!

We have computers in everywhere. In the kitchen, in the living rooms, in the sleeping rooms, in the basement. Luckily, not in the the toilet....haha. We intend to convert one of the room to study room and do a computer network later for the kids when they are older.

When I had a desktop computer it lived in my lounge on my desk next to my printer. Now that I have a laptop I usually use it when I am sitting on my sofa. It varies where I put my laptop when I am not using it. I put it somewhere safe away from my children and pets. When I am using my laptop the screen is only bright when it is plugged into the electricity.

Hi! There are two PC in our house, one in the living room and the other lives in my room. It's in my room, so that I can work quietly without disturbance and as well as since it's mine, I place it in my room naturally. It got a disadvantage however, since I have a computer in my room, I can't help sometimes to sleep very late at night.

I don't have that much rooms to decide where should I place it. I had only three rooms in my home. One is the kitchen where I can't place my computer as it was very small room. Another one is my bedroom where most of the space was taken by my bed. So I don't have any other option except the last room which is a hall. Thank You.
Your PC could be a cash machine. Look at my profile to know how.

I don't think so. It depends on the discipline you have instilled to your kids or to the members of the family. I have a laptop and I normally use it in front of the TV. That case I can maximize the hours, say, if there's a good tv show, then I could hibernate my laptop or let others use it.

I keep my computer in the living room so that even if I' working on something I still get to have sometime with my family since they are in the same room where I'm working.I don't want to be cooped up in a room all by myself and working. It makes the job more relaxing when I'm with my family.

Our desktop is in the bedroom. The laptop in the dining room. In both places, everyone has access to use them, provided nobody is sitting at it. He he he...

we spend most of the time in our living room as we keep watching tv and all and even my son does not play in his room and he brings all his toys in living room and most of the time we are in living room and hence we have kept our laptop also in the living room so that we will not miss tv and all things. we have a computer table and we dont use it and we have made a place for our laptop in living room.
it is the human mind we always try to have things according to our convinience and it is how we plan.
