Hello mylotters... I'm here, a little loopy from the pain medication they gave me after they removed my wisdom teeth. It was a good experience, especially when they gave me the laughing gas, and put me to sleep with something the stuck in my arm. It was a little bloody and painful at first when I woke up, but it's ok now. Especially since I get to take off of work for the whole weekend and sleep. How old were you when you had your wisdom teeth removed? Did they give you any problems before or after? Were you nervous to have them taken out? I would really appreciate your answers!

i know how difficult it is to get the wisdom tooth removed and i can really better understand the pain of removing it, as i have undergone this trauma for a long period and i had got removed two of my wisdom tooths. but the way of your tooth removal is a little different i feel as here they had given me anesthsia only when they have removed my tooth but for you they made unconcious is little bit different i feel, is this the method the adopt there for everyone is it?

Oh geez did I hated when my teeth were removed when I was 20. I was so nervous something would have gone wrong and I really didn't want the IVs they stuck in my hand because I'm quite afraid of needles. Afterwards I was so numb that I was thankful for the pain killers. I couldn't eat anything but yogurt and soup for over about a week. And unfortunately mine was done a week before I had to come back to college during my winter break. Horrible. I amazingly didn't swell or bruise that bad and I healed pretty fast which was great. That ment I could eat solids more. lol I missed solid foods.

Lol, I know what you mean, I love to eat. This is going to be a pain. I had to refrain from eating breakfast, and after the surgery, my mom went to arby's to get me a milkshake and she order her some "solid food" aka curly fries. That was the cruelest thing she's ever done to me...

i have to upper ones that need to be removed but i cannot afford it and we do not have dental insurance so there they will stay until they come out on their own. i think dental should just automatically be part of every medical insurance plan. who knows if we will ever see that though.

Uh oh. How did the operation go? My wisdom tooth is out already but it seems fine the way it so. Actually, I haven't gone to see my dentist for a year because I'm scared that he will pull out my wisdom teeth heehee. It doesn't hurt though and I heard that some people don't need to have theirs extracted so maybe I'm one of those lucky ones... :)

The operation went pretty well. They gave me the gas for about five minutes, and then the dentist/doctor shot something in my arm. Everything started to slow down after that and my eyelids were getting heavy. Then I started to tingle all over. Next thing I know I wake up with gauze in my mouth and the assistant is taking to me and I can hear her taking to my mom. I don't really listen because I'm still partially knocked out, but I'll remember bits and pieces every now and then...

I too went to the dentist few days back as I am having pain in the tooth, there he told me that the pain is due to my wisdom tooth and they have to remove it, So I said okay, they gave me one injection near that tooth and asked after some time can i feel the sensation i said yes so they gave me other shot and after some time again asked me if i am feel where they are toching on my gums i said yes they thought i might be joking so they took some eqipment to remove the tooth and just as they tried to pull it out i shouted so loud that they immediately dropped their tool and i got up and ran from there and never turned back. some one told me to rinse mouth with salt and alum would reduce the pain Now I am just rinsing my mouth with salt and alum and it is fine no pain.

I had my wisdom teeth removed a few months ago and i'm glad i never have to experience it again. All i got was a couple of sleeping pills that didn't work- i was awake the whole time- and i could feel my teeth being pulled. But it's not much of a problem after the excision, i didn't even have to take pain killers cause i didn't feel any pain. I hated that my mouth was very swollen and i couldn't eat anything. Porridge was hard to eat too. I was able to start eating comfortably after 5 days and the swolleness took 2 weeks or so to fully subside.

Hey there. I had 4 wisdom teeth taken out in one day about 4 months back. I was given a pill that would make me sleep. The dentist told me it would take one hour to take effect but i became drowsy within 5 minutes lol. That's good i think. I'm very susceptible to anaesthetics. So i was knocked out as soon as i laid in the dentist chair. My recovery went quite speedily. I could only eat liquid foods such as porridge for a week. by then i was so damn hungry lol. My lips and cheeks were so swollen i could hardly open my mouth to eat or speak. and my skin got really dry and peely around my mouth area. i felt much better after the dentist took out my stitches, which wasn't a pleasant experience. ouch .
