the man who is working in an software earning earn around 30000rs,the lady he marries also earns in similiar.... still he is demanding a huge sum as dowry, is this essential for them... did this same thing happens in all country.....

No this does not happen in the United States. I think it is a little outrageous, it seems to be selling your child to the highest bidder. I think the woman should be happy to marry someone who makes good money and can support her and a family with her. I don't think she should concern herself with how much of a dowry she can get from him.
