I have a canon powershot A75 camera, and lately, the display has been wonky. The pictures are wonky. By wonky, I mean discolored and streaky, and sometimes completely distorted. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this? It started months ago, and has gotten progressively worse, and now my camera is unusable because of the picture quality.

I'm afraid cameras aren't made to last... this model is nearly 5 years old, now...you can pick them up for about $15 (check on-line) if you want to replace it. But it probbly best to look for anew one.

Your problem may be related to an issue they had with the chip in the camera. I had a Canon A70, bought in 2003. It worked great for a few years, then starting getting error messages, and black pictures with purple stripes. This was big news years ago, as it affected alot of cameras. Check this link and read the discussion.

Good luck.

I know what could be wrong... you took too many beautiful pictures, you broke the camera...:).
Just kidding, trying to have a sense of humor here... those cameras are not reliable so therefore you may have to buy a new one. My daughter has one just like the icon being displayed. My 2 year old got a hold of it and ruined it. We are not sure how he did it but now, the camera is no good. That's $120 down the drain and no memory of her birthday or her present the camera!
