Have you ever think of it ? When we delete some files, they moves to the recycle bin and if the file size is more than your recycle bin capacity, they are deleted directly instead of moving to the bin. However, after deleting from recycle bin where does they go ? All knows, they are not going out side the computer hard disk, then where does they go ?

There could not be a file kept on all the files you delete. If there was your hard drive will fill up real quick. They may be a record of where you have been on the net in your cookie files or in the recycle bin but if you delete them then they are gone. They no longer exist in your computer. When you hear of the law finding files in a computer on the Hard Drive the4y are not finding anything that you cannot delete if you want to. Clean your C drive often to get rid of the temp internet files and junk like that. Keep the cookies deleted and the recycle bin. Also your favorites shows the web addresses you have saved. Things like this is what the law finds that tells them how you have used the computer. Delete any files you wouldn't want anyone to see. Clean the C drive, delete the cookies and then delete the recycle bin.

it's still there, just no longer accessable, and overwritten by data.
you need special software to retrieve it,such as data loss services/police departments have.that's why they tell you to utterly destroy a hard drive when you get rid of it.

If data is overwritten, then how it can be accessed ? That means if you have a hard disk with 10GB(Say) & when it is full, then you deleted old datas and reload with new data of 10GB. Now by using that software can you recover 20 GB of data ? If you/anyone continue the process for 10 times and use the software, then can we get 100 GB of data from 10 GB of hard disk. is it so ?

i'm not sure how they retrieve it exactly-i understand it to be sort of like layers.
forensic data retrievers can pull it off somehow with software.kind of like how there'll be ghost images of pencil writing on a paper after you've erased it.

I too was curious about that.
From what I can find it is still there but it will be over written and used again
over and over. Maybe that's why its called a "recycle bin". I used to think that this space was erased just like you would writting on a piece of paper, but someone told me it was still there but you could not get access to it without going into your hard drive to retrieve that information.
This is why the FBI , and the police take your PC when a person is being investigated so they can find out what you have been doing on your computer.
A computer expert can get into your computer and see everything you have done or where you have been on the WWW, even read your deleted e-mails.

When you are through with the file, it goes off in search of the odd sock that gets lost in the washing machine, and when it finds it, they settle down together. If you ever find where the missing sock goes, you will also find your files.

If u delete ur files they move to the recycle bin but if u delete ur files by holding ur shift key it does not move any they delete automatically from ur harddisk without going on recycle bin.But remember one thing these files are in the sectors on ur harddisk u can find these files by using the software data recovery or else.

The deleted files are still there, but they are not accessible any more by common users. Later they may be covered by new data and becomes hardly recoverable by software tools. layers of data are covered by new files over and over again. Only special technicians with special hardware tools can retrieve those data deeply stored in old layers.

The files you delete remain on your system although you cannot see or use them but they are still there. If you can delete files from recycle and come back the following day and do a "system restore" function and restore your system to the previous day the files will come back, thats the sign that files are not completely deleted from the computer
Same thing happens if you can unistall a program maybe by mistake and you can always do "system restore" and all your unistalled program will come back and functioning very well
