[b]honestly, i can't finish reading a book that fast. it takes me like weeks to finish it. hahaha! i only read a book when i am bored and when i feel like reading it. haha. i have this book which has been bought for like years and years ago but still haven't finished reading it yet. hahahaha!! i easily lose interest in finishing a certain book. well, during my schooling days i can finish up a book in days but now, i would rather lay down in bed watch shows on tv or face my laptop and mylot and visit the other sites that i usually visit in.
how about you? can you finish a bulky book in just one day? i know someone who can.. hahaha!

I still do finish a book in three days , earlier it used to be a day but now with two kids I spend my night time reading and generally can finish book in a two to three days. Actually I if book captivates me I keep readig it through out the day while doing laundry or cooking too. I just then can't keep it down.

When I take an interest in a book, I cannot put it down and end up finishing the same day or the very next morning. That is in fact the reason I don't read very often is b/c I tend to neglect everyone for the day and I can't stand doing that.

[b]hi psspurgeon1!
really? haha! nobody can ever distract you when you read something that interests you? hmmm.. yeah especially when you are in the part where the story gets better and nicer.. you can't keep you hands off the book and read more to the words typed on it.

I agree. I once read Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. I finished them in a single day! When I was 11, I also finished John Grisham's Pelican Brief in the same timeframe. I also finished Tom Clancy's Clear and Present Danger in a day when I was in 2nd year high school.
It's true we book lovers tend to hold on to the book when it has caught our fancy.

I know a handful of those people who can finish a novel in one sitting. I can't, or at least usually don't, do that. I have done it once or twice but usually I only read a couple of chapters a day, for at least a week. If I like a book it's about a week, if I'm not that enthralled by it it can take 2 weeks. I like "being in the middle of a book" like that because it spreads it out longer.

[b]hi philjas!
yes because on the first few pages, the book is hard to open it up fully.

It all depends on the book. I finished a book in a weekend once. Other times, it takes a week or so. It also depends on how much time I have to read. Some times I just cannot give more than a half hour or so to my reading at a time.

I suppose it depends on the length of the book. If I take a hankering for it then I will definitely be on that book and done with it within a week, but if I get busy then well it takes about a month.

true. when the book you are reading has a lot of pages in it then definitely it will take you days or weeks to finish it unless you diligently read the book from time to time!

I can't read that fast as well, like you, I read whenever I got spare time and bored as well. But if it was really interesting book and really like it, I think I can finish it in a few days, quite still slow. Before, I read a bit fast than I'm right now, like when I read Harry Potter books, I only read it in three days. But right now, when there's a lot of things to do and rarely read a book, I read slower than before.

I am an avid reader and when I start a book it's usually hard for me to put it down. I tend to finish them either the same night of the next day.

It really depends on the book. When i am really interested and the book has a good story, I can finish a book i am interested in within one day if it is english thick book but if it is tagalog romance novel i can finish it within an hour. However, if i don't like the book and i just read it because i am bored it would take me to read 3 - 5 days if it is english book but if it tagalog book, it will take 1 day for me to finish it.

If I have the time (and my kids let me) I can finish a book in less than an afternoon. Every now and then I will get a book that I can't put down. I have stayed up very late into the night to finish a book. The last great book I read and couldn't put down was The Last Lecture. Nothing like crying before going to sleep.

i'm really not into reading. but i would lovely if i could finish a book in just one day. a friend of mine said that she could finish a book in just a one, especially when the story goes nice. she always say that, give a book. she always said that she really want to read books, as many as she can. i would idolize those people like my friend who could finish 1 book in just one day. and asking for more. god. i hope i would be a bookworm someday. but my friend is training me to love books, the way my friend love it.

If i find a book interesting i would just read it in a day or two by sitting late in the night. I would also make a summary of the same for my future reference. But this is not the routine now as i rarely find time to read books. Most of the time i am on the net during my free time and have little time to read books. I have a library card with me but have not got any book issued for the past six months.

I just finished the book about Sarah Palin and finished it in two short reading sessions. Of course the book is only about 180 pages, so that wasn't difficult.
When I read a normal sized novel, it takes me about 3 days. Less if I'm really into the book. That's when I neglect everything else.

I like reading, but I take forever to finish books. I get bored of reading no matter how good the book is. I dont know why. Reading just makesme feel sleepy.

Hi,
It depends on the book.If its an interesting book, then I cannot stop until I've finished the book. There are times when I eat and read at the same time cause I'm soo hooked on that book.desperate times..hehe..so it usually takes me 1 day or max 2 days to finish a book.If its a boring book,I don't think I'll be able to even finish that book.hehe..

depending on the size of the book, and how interesting it is..probably about 2 days if big and thrilling or hours if a smaller one..but in average the type of Lord of the rings about 2-3 days...
