Hi there, I am a member of a freelancing site, which you can find on my profile page. If I were you, start writing for a couple of sites that pay you to writer and publish work on there, add me as a friend and send me a PM and I can tell you the best sites to do it with. I don't think I can post them on here. Basically, I published many articles on such sites and wrote my page down, so that when someone from these freelancing sites wish to view samples, I give them the website of all my published work and let them have a look through that. They can then also see what topics you like writing about and give you work that is specific to your preferences.
I hope that has been helpful, but like I said, add me as a friend and send me a message and I will try and help you best I can. It took a little while for me to get into freelance writing, but now I can earn about $60-80 per day, but you do need to put the hours in!
Good luck and let me know if you need me!

I write articles too. I write for hubpages.com at the moment but would be interested in the other sites as well. I shall request you as a friend and send you a message so you can send me the information.

I have been a full time freelance writer for years now. Freelance writing does take some work. Currently, I have 12 clients under me and 2 writers under me. Mostly, I take on a lot of the work myself. You can easily find freelance writing work at http://www.getafreelancer.com
This site is very reliable as that is where I find most of my clients. The pay grade varys. I have had days where I made $140.00 per day, it all depends on what projects you go for. When you go to GAF, you have to be a member to bid, it doesn't take much to sign up. You set the price and amount of time it will take you. As for the sample, you could always choose a topic to write about, make it something you like and submit that as a sample of your work. You will find many clients on there looking for new writers. If you need more help with starting out, just let me know.
Thanks, Melanie

I think you have to start googling. I found many information from googling, I even came to this place because of it. It is to find many places paying you for writing blogs or articles. Of course you have to be careful for some of them are might be scam. I would suggest associated content or payperpost, for you to start.

I feel the same way. I also would love to learn good writing skills and also have no clue where to start out - I like writing, but need a little practice and would like if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks a lot. Maja

Are you looking for the opportunity to write short articles for a little cash, Ciao-style? If so, all the above advice stands.
If you're looking for an actual online writing JOB, that's a different matter. By a job, I mean becoming effectively staff on an online magazine. If you're looking for that, for full-time (or nearly full-time) work, it's a different matter. I used to be on staff (voluntarily, as in for no pay) and write, edit and proof-read for a site, so I've seen a bit of how it seems to work. It's obviously more difficult and much longer-term, with fewer short-term rewards, but it is possible.
