Nosey neighbors watching everything. Do you have them?

Oh yea Nosey neighbours are very irritating and it takes a ot of effort notto snub them. They make it their business to watch what all is happening in your house without really bothering to set their own house in order. I had a neighbour who would always come and tell my wife "Your husband came home early from office today. you are going out somewhere ?" or "Who was that boy your daughter came home with yesterday eveing?" or "How is Clinic shampoo? you bought one yesterday didn't you? Did you use it?" They are really bugging.

I have a couple of neighbors who are older, and they watch everything that goes on in the neighborhood. To the best of my knowledge, they don't start any rumors or gossip, but I know they are watching the cars and stuff that come and go during the day, and that they would report any suspicious activity that went on if I were not at home at the time. They don't come out and watch us unload our groceries or anything like that, but they know when people come and go. It is almost like having a neighborhood watch or something going on. Knowing that someone is watching over my house when I am gone also makes me feel better about leaving my dogs at home alone. I guess you can say that I kind-of like having neighbors that see everything that goes on in our neighborhood. As I stated in a previous discussion about this, as long as they don't say anything about my occasional naked struts to the laundry room with the curtains open, let them watch all they want...LOL

Hello,Shar! I have three neighbors who poke their nose into our affairs and they have an eye on us.They gossip about our activities among themselves and get immense pleasure.We don't have practical relationship with those people.thanx.

Heck ya I have a nosy neighbour. It is awfull she watches everything that we do. And of course she thinks that she is better than us. She will see one of our kids in town and have to tell us what they are doing. One day she did this and our daughter told her to mind her own buisness (she was 15 at the time). So she told us that we have raised kids that have no respect for anyone. We told her that we have raised our kids to respect people that respect her. She is just a pain in the butt. As for the watching over and calling the police, we have a dog that guards us and our property so I could do without her....LOL.

i don't like neighbors who are like that. there use to be this old lady that lived 2 houses down from me where i use to live, she would sit out on her porch all day and just watch what everybody was doing around the neighborhood. she would actually sometimes have binoculars its crazy. my grandparent are sort of like that but there just looking out the window to see if there neighbors out there flag up. its really funny.

Oh My! that is pretty annoying. i hate people like that. why cant they just mind their own business.

I guess to a certain extent I AM one of them. However I hate gossip, and don't waste my time talking about or even caring about what my neighbors do. I do however know every car or person who passes by my quiet little road. You see I'm here 24/7. Plus we've had a number of breakins in my neighborhood over the last few years, so I keep close watch on all people coming and going. Matter of fact I had my front door open to my screen porch two nights ago because it was so warm, and heard my dog start to growl. It was 11pm so all should be quiet. I peeked out the door and there stood a man on the patio. I quickly shut and locked the doors. I'd rather have someone watching, then to not have someone see a burglar.

OMG I know how you feel I have the most extremly nosey neighbours ever. They know what shop i go to get my food and if i go to a different supermarket they ask why i have changed supermarkets. They collect my postand packages from the postman even if I am in the house!!! they are a nightmare and everyone in my cul de sac feels the same!!! they don't just pick out one person either they do it to everyone and always seem to know something about you that you know in your heart of hearts that you have never ever said to them!

There is one person in this neighborhood that does that. My heart goes out to her because she has no life. You hardly ever see her but she sees everything. Never really talk to anyone but knows everything. When you pass her house, the doors are wide open the curtains on the windows are pulled all the way back and she has clothes pin holding them open. I know this because I have been in her house. We(the neighbors) try to communicate with her and keep her company but she is just a loner. When she tries to tell things that has happen she never get them right.

yes. i have them in fact living beside us. haha. she would always try to find out where are we going, what we have bought recently etc. but life can be interesting to have her around and also we feel safer with her around us as she keeps an eye on almost everything in our house or vicinity. anything unusual would never escape her eyes so she is like an extra security guard to us. we are ok with her cos once she saved our house from being burgled and it was her alertness that frightened the culprits away. so i cannot say i dislike them but she sure makes up an interesting part in our neighbourhood

they know every my move ;D everyone's life absorbs them, they wonder: what is she doing? well, well, what but what is she doing xD certainly funny, but they gossip too much, they 'know' things impossible to be known haha; oh well nevermind, better watch Tom Waits's video "What's he's building down there', a funny video concerning this case of all those nosey neighbours

I have a pair!! Basically like yours, always sticking her heads out to my house. If my house has a light blackout, she can tell you what time. The lastest is she camp outside the newspaper stand for the whole afternoon to gossip.

Thanks but no thanks, I hate that too but then you know the person who angers you conquers you, so i just ignore the gossip part. She can gossip for as long as she wants. I will just smile at her and shag it off. Besides I also have to be friendly and socialize so that ,y nerighbor would help me in case I am in a dire need.

Hi fellow lotter, i guess you are quite unlucky to have a neighbour like this, she is really nosey to the extreme. But on the bright side she is being alert and it there are any suspicious people in your neighbourhood, i guess she will be the first to find out and call the police. One bad thing is that she likes to spread gossip amongst the neighbours, but as long as she doesnt not bother you or gossip about you, i think it should be okay.

The house I just moved out of was next to an elderly lady's house and across the road from her elderly friend. Together, they were like a neighbourhood watch team out in full force. I was grateful for this although it was kind of annoying not being able to go out into my yard without them asking me about this or that that happened down the road during the week or something like that. I figure nosey neighbours are lonely, bored or perhaps even a little mad. If I were you I would get on her good side because she'd be like a good watch dog.

i have "violation" neighbors.. y'know the type that call the city on every little thing they think is a violation? i haven't gotten to painting my porch yet (fixing other stuff,no $) so the B next door calls the city and says our property is "run down". i wanted to kill her. they dropped over $100,000 on their property when they moved in,and can't understand why everyone else can't.

Hey shar! I also have the nosy neighbors from hell! I have so many it's not funny! I have the ho next door who is a total psycho. She watches everything and has a problem with the one under her and she is also always peeping out the window and she is supposed to be my friend, but I don't trust her because she is nuts too. The we have a bunch of women who sit outside on the benches and know everything that is going on the the neighborhood. We call them the "neighborhood watch". They don't miss a thing! But it gets annoying because they are always outside watching and you can't get past them without them staring and talking. It's really horrible because I really can't walk out the door without someone peeping or staring all the time!

My husband IS THE NOSEY NEIGHBOR!! He drives me crazy. He knows everyone and everything that goes on around here, which is good and bad, in my opinion. He never hesitates to call the police if he sees something suspicious.

Hello, Shar11! Luckily, I don't have that kind of neighbor. We are all relatives in the compound where we are living. Although there are times when gossip is also spread amongst the other neighbors, it doesn't cause any serious trouble. The fact is, we are harmoniously related to one another. During weekends, we even stop by the front of our house (because we have this big space in front) and share the weekdays getaways! Regards to you and happy posting!

Yes.I used to have a nosey aunty in neighbour who used to drop in after guest used to visit us.She used to sit all through to listen what are we talking about and that used to irritate me like hell.But gradually she became so busy with her own life(grandchildren) that thankfully she doesnt have the time to come to our home now.
