Windy Weather

I wish I had a viedo camera. I was looking out my back window. There's an vacant field behind me that is grown up in wild grass that has seed heads on it. The wind is blowing it and it looks like waves of water. (strange color for water but that's what it looks like). Then my eye was drawn into my yard and the little crab apple tree. The tree is being moved in the opposite direction from the waves of grass in the field. Nature is truly a marvelous thing.
Is the weather in your part of the world doing strange things? It seems the weather here on the high plains of Texas gets more erratic every year.

That sounds really neat. I have a video camera, but no computer software. I have a webcam in my computer, so I could sit out there and aim it in that direction, if I was there. I also have a camera cellphone, but the webcam and handycam DVD recorder do a much better job of capturing things like this than the cellphone does.

I think my cell phone will capture video, but I don't have a data cable to download the pictures from it.

I do so enjoy watching the beautiful scenery that Mother Nature displays for us. The autumn months are filled with breathtaking colors. The clouds that fill the sky on a bright and sunny day are glorious. We all need to stop and look around us, there is so much for us to see.

The weather was strange here in New Jersey yesterday. It was really windy and raining, it would rain hard then slow down. In the evening the winds were blowing like crazy, there was thunder and lightening. I heard a loud noise, and didn't really pay much attention to it. Later when I looked out of my kitchen window, I saw that a tree had fallen down in the back yard.
Yes, the weather was strange yesterday.

We didn't get much from Hurricane Ike except a lot of rain, but the weather has definitely been different this year. LOL As far as I'm concerned Chicago can't possibly be as windy as West Texas. The wind blows all the time. Sometimes harder than others.

Where is the camera when you need it? I can never find my camera when exciting things happen around me.
The weather here in Northern Ireland is very cold. In fact it is 2 degrees. It is usually twelve at this time of year. There is icy rain outside and the forcast is for snow. We do not get much snow. Sometimes in January, but we had rain from May and severe floods, so anything is possible, I suppose.
I think the world has shifted of its axial tilt. It could not be Global warming with snow.

I seem to remember back in the 50's scientists were predicting that the ice caps at the poles would melt and that would cause the earth to shift on it's axis. So it could be due to global warming. The weather is getting colder where it used to be moderate and warmer where it used to be very cold.

Last night the wind was so strong that my hubby and I thought it was raining against the window. It wasn't. It was the dry leaves hitting the window that we heard. When we watched the news, we discovered that we were having gusts up to 50 miles per hour. Yikes.

The only odd thing about the weather here is that it was almost 80 degrees here today. The end of October and it felt like summer.
I did see the same phenomena that you described the other day, though. My oleander was swaying one direction while on the other side of the fence, the neighbors trees were swaying the opposite direction.
You know how sometimes you can look at something and think it is moving one way, keep watching it and it seems to go the other? That is what I thought was happening. I just stood on the back deck, watching for about 5 minutes. I did finally decide that the trees on my side of the fence were being blown a different direction than the neighbors trees. Awesome stuff.

Like water flowing uphill? Yes, that's what I thought at first too. Optical illusion, but it wasn't. . .I don't think.

we have just crossed and finished the windy weather and now it is rainy and drizzling now i think this kind of weather is going to continue for the whole week and i dont know till when but yesterday i could see it may even snow on thursday here and i was just thinking this year snowing is going to arrive so fast while this was not the case last year but this year the cold is too much and it started early and also snow is going to start up fast and it is really severe winter this time, so we all have to be prepared for the severe winter.
i just hope that this weather will not effect our health.

That sounds like a very nice scene that you are experiencing! I too love the wind, I particularly love the way it sounds, that whistling when you have a window open slightly! The high plains of Texas, this definitely sounds like my cup of tea! As you know though, the weather is definitely changing due to global warming and there's going to be a lot more unpredictable weather to come! I don't mind the changes in weather just as long as I don't start experiencing some of those horrendus floods! Andrew

That sounds like it is a beautiful site. The weather here is getting colder and the temperature is dropping as we speak. Of course the leaves are brown and all over the place and the wind is also blowing here. It is going to be frosty in the morning.

Most modern digital cameras have a movie setting on them. You can usually record both video and sound. Most amateur movies shake because they are hand held so for maximum effect use a tripod or hold your hand and camera against a post or something solid to steady it. I love to watch a thunderstorm move across the landscape and would love to take a movie of things like that too.

It was terribly windy here today so I wasn't outside much. I watched the leaves swinging in the breeze from a window in our computer room this morning and knew it was pretty chilly out there. Also noticed the leaves are red on the tips only but many are still on the trees. Our strange and ever changing weather will be here in a month or two. Winters can be nasty in Missouri.

It was very very windy today here too..also very frigid. I stayed inside all day and only went out to take the dogs to the bathroom. Which was very unejoyable.
Its crazy. A week ago i was sweating in my room and now its cold as heck.. LOL you can't win with weather.

If I was instead of you I would be tucking in a blanket in the bed. I am afraid of the wind. I cannot stand its howling voice. It used to haunt me when I was a child. I was afraid that the building might crumble beacuase of the wind. It is something that I am afraid of.
