What motivates you when you have house work to get done?

No one really likes to do house work do they?
I know I don't...
I sometimes put it off but there comes a time when I need to just bite the bullet and get it done.
Something that always seems to help motivate me to do it is loud music.
I load the cd player with my favorite cds, turn it up and begin the task..
I often dance around so I also get a great work out.
Talk about killing two birds with one stone..
Exercise and housework in one shot.
I think the music just gives me energy and also as I sing along, the time passes and it just gets done.
I guess another motivator would be visitors coming over lol..
When I know we are having guests I will make sure the house is nice and tidy..
When I am done I am usually pretty tired but there is nothing like relaxing in a fresh, clean house!!!What things do you do to motivate you to clean house?
Do you also listen to music?

I get some iced tea and then turn on the music. I like to go room to room checking from floor to ceiling on what to do. I like to use any new products that I have. I usualy do all this on sat or Sunday and I did most of mine yesterday!I have to have a clean house, and I cant stand it to be out of order. Drives me crazy!Another motivation is challenge yourself to have the cleanest house possible and look over the rooms to see what needs improvement!

I can't say that anything motivates me to clean it other than I can't stand to live in a dirty house. It is insane to think that it won't get dirty again but sometimes I think that if I clean it now, I won't have to clean it on another day that I don't want too. Of course, it has to be cleaned up everyday so that doesn't work.
I don't mind most days to clean it but today I don't want to do anything with it. I have to clean the bathroom today and do a load of laundry but my husband will be home today after being gone two weeks so I am excited.

Motivates me to get it done? nothing. I do however drag myself up and get the baby in his playpen with his breakfast and turn him cartoons on in the living room. Make me a big glass of iced tea and just crank the music up as loud as it goes. I will dance around and sing and the baby will just laugh at me. It turns out to be alot of fun and if you do it right it can be a good workout to!

Sometimes it helps me to imagine how nice things will look clean and in their place. Sometimes a nice smell will get me moving. Music works too

My motivation is knowing that my fiance really appreciates it!! I also know that if I don't do it, he will, and that motivates me more because I don't feel as if he should have to clean since he works almost 60 hours a week, and I do nothing but stay at home currently!

I also like the music. It has to be upbeat and dancable! Thats about the only thing that will motivate me. I hate cleaning because all I think about is how it will be a mess as soon as the kids get home from school URGG!! Drives me nuts they think everything thats in there hands goes on the floor. coats, toys, papers, everything! Get this I have a garbage can right next to the toilet, right next, but if they empty a roll of tp they throw the tube on the floor!! I don't get it...
Of course knowing I have company will get my but moving, exspecially if it was like today. Friend called and asked if I was home she was almost there. I was like oh sh** the house is a mess. I haven't moved so fast in months. I hate hate a dirty house, but I get tired of cleaning up after everyone every minute of the day!!

what motivates me most is that i cannot stand when things are a mess and out of order because it makes me feel out of order too. also if someone were to stop by and my house was a mess i would be embarrassed. i like my house to be neat and organized. the one thing i hate the most is dusting followed by vacuuming and cleaning the bath tub but someone has to do it so that is another motivator. if i don't do it it will not get done at all.

Let's see. Things that motivate me to clean house. . .not being able to find a place to put my glasses or car keys without clearing space, having to move something other than the cat to find a place to sit and watch TV, discovering that all those dishes in the fridge have inedible food in them. Have you guessed housework isn't my favorite activity? 
Definitely, knowing I'm having visitors is the top of the list, especially if they will be staying overnight. My guest room is also my craft room and it can really get cluttered.
Upbeat music is a good moral booster and can help keep the mood going. Even music doesn't do much for me if the weather is cloudy and dreary, but it certainly helps.

Just seeing things undone is enough to motivate me to do the chore immediately. I don't like to dirty dishes on the sink so I do it right away. I don't want my house untidy so I clean the house regulary whether or not there would be visitors coming. I hate sitting and seeing things left undone. I love to see my home fresh and clean. Indeed some chores are tiring but I'm happy I have a hubby and a son who are very cooperative so chores in the house is no major issue. We handle all those chores pretty well without the need of a maid.

I'm a bit mysophobic, not so serious, I usually do the housework, sweeping the floor, cleaning the furniture and windows, doing the laundry. Sometimes I listen to music, sometimes don't, but I don't dance, I'm not good at dancing. My mom is mysophobic, too.

Yes, when I have company coming over that does get me to hopping too. I really enjoy singing so it seems as if it makes the time go a lot faster when I singing so that motivates me also. Sometimes if I'm not press for time I will clean in between commericals. Yes, I do but the work does get done.

When i am alone i am used to listening the music and i can not get rid of this habit at all.SO when i am going to do housework,i will load my personal computer with my favorite cds like you,but it is not noisy or loud music,just gentle and fair-sounding music since they can make me feel relaxed and under this situation,i can continue to do housework and finish it.

well when i dont feel like doing house work i just look at what i have to do split it up turn on the music really load and work till its done because more often thatn not if you the one doing it then if you dont it will not get done and no one likes to live in a dirty house well i mean i know i dont like to live in a dirty house even if the people you live with are messy like crazy so music is what does it for me rock like nickleback and fall out boy and others

My love for my family motivates me to do all the housework. I can pick up all the mess my son left with a smile on my face. I can do the laundry singing. No matter how tired, there's always energy left to get housework done, because I love the people whom I do them for.
