I use margarine. i think it gives it a nice flavor. My grandma uses lard/fat to fry/cook everything but I'm a margarine gal.

I prefer oil, but that is only because I am not that fond of butter Either one will do though, so long as I can get enough grease in there so that the pancakes don't stick to the frying pan

Yay, I lover pancakes really one of my favorite breakfast and snacks. Anyway, I like to cool it in butter. I think it was quite more tasty and not that oily compare if it's cook in oil.

Yes, but can it be just a little greasy if cooked in butter? I prefer the oil, it comes out better this way.. Just as long as it is used sparingly ..

I use Pam or Canola oil that you can spray like Pam. It seems so much more healthier than either butter or regular oil. With Pam you can control how much you put in the pan. Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

I have a teflon pancake griddle for pancakes. I do spray it once as I start cooking the pancakes. In fact this morning I'm making sourdough pancakes for breakfast. We put the butter on the cakes along with peanutbutter and syrup. When I was a kid my granddmother would fry hers in lard and make them crispy around the edges. I liked to put mustard on those crispy pancakes.

I usually use a cooking spray, so they don't stick and aren't greasy. I used to use cooking oil but I found that cooking spray works better for me. Sometimes I don't use anything, but a non-stick skillet, they won't stick to that.

I spray my pan with canola cooking spray. Butter/margarine would burn for me as I like the temperature high for pancakes. My mom used to use Vegetable oil.

I cook my pancakes on a griddle that I don't have to but anything on. I do use oil in the batter tho. And I put margarine on them when they are done. Now you've gone and made me hungry for pancakes lol.

Yes, some pancakes don't have the added butter flavor.. I usually will buy Aunt Jemima's Buttermilk pancakes, to give me the buttery taste to it.. I also will buy the Butter Lite Syrup to go along with it too.

I like butter, I love the butter and margarine taste! Just have to watch it though, butter burn too quick:) On top of that, still have to put the butter on top! Taripre$

I use neither one to cook my pancakes. I use Pam cooking spray. It's much lighter and better for you. I actually made pancakes from scratch for breakfast this morning. They turned out really well and I think I will continue to make them myself.

My husband used to do them in oil but I bought him a lovely pancake griddle where you don't need it. Much easier on my stomach and tastes better too!

I use margarine or butter. A lot of it, then the first pancake is all crispy and buttery and you can eat it while your waiting to cook the rest.
