i have a cousin who is more like a sister to me. she's only a year older, and for a few years during our childhood we lived in one house, and visited each other when they moved. in college we were back to living under one roof (different floors though, hehe) and were classmates in a few courses. there was a time when we were both teaching at the same school. we share lots of memories, private jokes, secrets. she's one of the funniest people i know and one of the few who really know who i am. two months ago, she moved to california where she now lives with her husband and 2-year old daughter. this is the first time we've been this far apart. i miss her.

I have a few cousins who are more like siblings to me. One of them is a woman and the other two are men. Our family has always been very close. We celebrate even third and fourth cousins birthdays. But of the ones I'm closest with Sherri (the woman) has recently moved over one thousand miles away from me. It makes me very sad to know that she won't be at our Christmas party this year. I'll always treasure our times together. I'm glad that T.J. and B.J. (the men) still live very near to us though. I'm also glad that we have unlimited long distance on our phone so it won't cost me too much to talk to Sherri on a regular basis. I hope that you and your cousin can keep in touch via the phone and internet too.

thanks for sharing this...wow, i don't even know my third and fourth cousins. this year was my first birthday that she wasn't with me. it's expensive to call the US from the philippines, and she's still adjusting to being in a new continent and culture. she's seldom on the internet, but i'm glad there's this technology...hey, her husband went online on YM just now, yey!

I personally don't, but I know quite a few people who are cousins, they might as well be brothers and sisters! They're always together, dress alike, act alike, man it's annoying! Taripre$
