i oftentimes write my poems whenever i'm sad. but there are times when i also write poetries about happy and treasured moments. however, i don't know why, but it seems that my melodramatic poetries are always better than the others.

I write poetry when I'm happy and when I'm sad but my best poetry is always written when I'm sad. I think when we are sad we put more of our own feelings and emotions into our poetry. It's a way of releasing those feelings; getting rid of them. I always feel much better having written of poem when I'm sad. The poems I write when I'm happy are ok, but I wouldn't say they are as good as the ones I write when I'm sad.

I only write poems when I'm sad...I have more ideas when I'm in that state. I did try writing a poem when I was happy, but it was so hard to do. I don't know why. But like you, I do write better when I'm sad.

When I was living at my parents house when I was in high school I was miserable. I wrote poetry all the time. It was an outlet for all the pain I was feeling inside. I always cried, I always felt like I no longer wanted to live and my poetry was a direct reflection of my feelings. I typed them all up and kept them in a binder.
