Is it just me or did anyone here noticed that oil prices just went down from 46 php to 41 php... this is really quite a good shock... since a lot of people have been clamoring for a big time oil price roll back... and when it finally did... there was no big news announcement...
I think this is a good move on the part of these oil companies... since a big time roll back is definitely long overdue... i just hope there will be more... since before the price increased... diesel was only like 36 per liter...
What a good news despite of the current world economic crisis... i hope this will create a balance in our economy... because the pesos is becoming weaker and weaker everyday...

I agree with you... the plan of a public transpo rollback in December should be given much earlier... since the oil prices are much lower that it was last month... it is but fair for all commuters and drivers...
Thanks for the response...

Well, there was like a clamor for a decrease of oil prices... and some groups even stormed the offices of the big oil companies... i think that helped in them deciding to have a big time oil price roll back... and some companies even said that more is to come these coming weeks...

Hello aseretdd,
As I am driving a car everyday, it does affect me. Before the economic crisis, we paid RM1.92 per litre. When the price of oil went up to more than USD100 per barrel, we paid RM2.70 per litre and that was quite a trouble for most of us. I use an average of RM15 worth of petrol daily. In September, the government decided to review the oil price every month and our oil price went down four times from RM2.70 to RM2.45 in September, RM2.30 in October and just a day ago, it went down to RM2.15. I hope soon the government can review it once more and it will go back to the previous price at RM1.92 or better, even lower than that!

Well, all countries were certainly affected by the sudden increase of oil prices in the world market... it is a good thing that there is currently a downward trend... and that governments are making sure that oil companies are not taking advantage of the situation... i just hope that there will be more oil price rollback in the coming weeks... that would certainly be a great christmas present...

hi... i have heard it on the news as well but you know what the problem is? the rollback was on the news but the gas station itself have only made a P2.00 rollback. I heard it from the jeepney drivers complaining on the morning after it was announced. They said that the announcement is misleading the public, for press release sake but the reality is far from the truth. I just don't know if the gasoline station owners in our area have made any adjustment.

That is not the case here in my area... oil price companies did lower their prices by 5 pesos... i don't know why it is not the same in your area... that is just not fair... i hope it was just a misunderstanding... and that the gasoline stations there will comply with the 5 pesos rollback...

I watched in the news last night that there will be more oil price roll back in the coming weeks... since world oil price is declining fast... it might even go down to as low as 35 php per liter... i think that will be good for our economy... a balancing effect to the weakening of the peso...
Thanks for the response...

I have noticed that also. Now diesel cost only 40 and unleaded 46.09. It is really great news especially to commuters and drivers. Now there is a news that transportation fare will decrease to 0.50. I thought that here in our country the oil prices are too high compare to other countries. I read one discussion here about gas also in tenneesse their oil price range from $2.49 seems too high.

Oil prices in our country are indeed higher that those in other countries... and i do not understand why... and yes, the jeepney fare decreased by .50 but other areas are not yet implementing that... but i sure wish the decreased the fare by 1 peso...
Thanks for the response...

I watch the news on a daily basis so I could say that I'm fully aware about this issue regarding the prices of oil getting cheaper. This is quite good especially for those who have their own cars or vehicles which they use to go to and from a location. This is also great for public utility vehicles who earn their living through this.
But personally, I don't have a car and I have no choice but to take the public transport everyday. I just wish that the transportation fares would also go down in the coming days. It has been reported that the fares for jeepneys would decrease by fifty centavos and one peso on buses starting on Tuesday next week (Nov. 4). Unfortunately, I take an fx everyday on my way to the office. I'm not sure if the operators and drivers association of fx will come up with the decision of lowering their rates but I do hope that they would, too.

But they should... since that is only fair because the oil price decrease is quite substantial... some jeepney drives already took the initiative of decreasing the fare by 50 cents... and i think that is a good thing... but there should be more if oil prices will still decrease in the coming weeks...

Some drivers already took the initiative of slashing the fare by 50 cents... but if there will be more oil price roll backs like what some oil companies said... then there should be a substantial amount of fare decrease... that would certainly make a lot of commuters happy...
Thanks for the response...

I do not care that much on oil price hikes since none in the family owns a car and we are not directly affected if the oil prices increase or decrease. But I must admit it is a good news that oil price rollback is very much needed nowadays that almost everyone goes home for the Halloween season.

Even if we are not directly affected... the indirect ways on how a decease in oil prices is still a good thing for most Filipinos... and i really hope that what the oil companies said about more decrease to come is true... since that will create a balancing effect to the crisis that our economy is facing...

hi, yes it is long been awaited. Having a car now a days really is a big thing. Not to mention all the maintenance we have to take but the Gasoline is a real big issue. I am praying that all these Oil company will continue to drop its price since the world market price in oil is really decreasing. Well maybe now they do not have any reason not to give the one time P5 drop. And maybe they are expecting a big sales right now because of All saints day celebration. Many will be using their car at this time..( and they are right )...nice discussion...

In my case... it would be more impractical to own a car since my office is walking distance away from the apartment... but i love this big time oil price roll back since all of us will be affected positively whether directly or indirectly... and i certainly hope that more will come in the coming weeks...

Some drivers already slashed their transportation fare by 50 centavos... but the way i see it... it should be 1 php... since there is already like 20 pesos oil price roll back for two months now... and they say more will come before the year ends... and that is definitely a good thing...

The way gas prices fluctuate lately, we don't know whether we are coming or going. Sometimes we drive by a gas station on the way to the grocery story and it has one price and when we come back the price has gone up or down 10 cents or more, it seems.

Oh yes, the fare in my city has also gone down by 50 centavos since last week and I hope it's going to decrease more but there are still drivers who don't give exact change especially those without the tariff yet but I always tell them that the fare has decreased and so is the gasoline.
And also I can buy gasoline for 20 pesos now for the motorcycle unlike when gasoline was more than 50 that the stations don't allow 20 pesos gasoline.

It is good that the drivers in your area decreased the tranportation fee... there is still no word yet here in my area... but some drivers are only getting 8 pesos... and that is nice... i hope more oil price roll back will happen this November... that will be such a great Christmas gift from the oil companies...

Did the oil prices really go down by 5 pesos? If so then it is amazing. Here in the U.S. oil prices are constantly going up and only decline like 1 cent once in a while. Back in the 1900's oil prices were like 99 cents per gallon! But now it increased drastically! The economy in the U.S. is also very bad. Everything is really expensive!

Well, in my country... oil prices are determined by the price of Dubai crude... and that is now on the decline side... which is good for us... since that will certainly create a balancing effect since the peso is weakening day by day...
My country is also currently affected by what is happening in the US... and i just hope your country will be able to surpass the crisis soon...
