In Singapore, the government tries to keep inflation at 2% per annum, in the long run. This year, due to imports and oil prices, inflation rocketed sky high to about 7.5%.
To be honest, I always get scolded by my friends because I suck at looking at price tags. LOL. I have this habit of spending whatever I have, hence for me, it doesn't affect me. If I work, I spend, if I don't, I will not spend.

HAHAH. That's because I am only 19 years old. I will have to worry about that in future of course, if I have a family. And of course, my parents. LOL.

Me too, the grocery store sure isn't ccheaper, I guess like everything else it goes up faster then it comes down. Maybe this year we will just have to remember what the holidays are really all about. Peace, love and joy. not things.
Thanks for your response

The only prices I have noticed going down around here is gas. 2 months ago it was up to 4$ and now it is 2.12, it has been several years since I have seen it that low. the prices are still kind of high at the supermarket though, I hope the prices on food will start to go down like gas is.

Gas prices are certainly coming down, but I don't see much differeence elsewhere. I hope it'll do a little trickling down to prices at the grocery store and the pharmacy. Recently, I've seen so very many stores go out of business because they couldn't keep up with the economy, and the shelves are relatively empty, even at Target, because people just can't afford to spend much anymore. This is approaching the Great Depression, but since there have been so many increases in population, crime, etc., it would certainly not be as friendly as it was in the thirties. People are almost afraid to help others anymore. We all need a major boost in attitude and morality to make it through the horrors of being dirt poor!

The prices are still high here, but they have come down a little bit. Compared to last year, they are still high. I have not been purchasing luxury items like cookies and sweets, we do not really need them, and I have put things back like mayonaise. The other day, I nearly dropped the jar when I saw the price of it.
I have also been buying cheaper brand foods, and they actually taste fine. I have bought cheaper toilet tissue and things also and I certainly will buy these things from now on.
Hopefully the prices of things will come down even further. Like petrol and oil.

Hi Savypat, I haven't noticed any prices drops other than petrol and deisel, the food prices still seem to be going up and for some reason choclate seems to be expensive. I am being more frugal in my weekly shop as what I save there I can put on electric so we can have some heat through the house. I think a lot of people are struggling right now. Overtime has been cut at my brothers workplace so he is down £1000 a month which is going to make an enormous differnece to him bless. The only other prices I have experienced dropping drastically have been property prices. Huggles. Ellie :D
