I did a search for this prior to this post to see if anyone else has posted a reminder, and nothing newer than 8 months ago showed up so I throw out the reminder.... http://buzz.yahoo.com/buzzlog/91966 Daylight Saving Time ends this Saturday - turn you clocks BACK 1 hour. They tell you to do it a 2am Sunday morning and if you can get up to do that, good for you, but I have always just set the clock forward/backward when I go to sleep Saturday night and I get up "on time" in the mornings! And the thing "loose an hour of sleep" - not, really as you'll still sleep and there are still 24 hours in a day - if it is an issue...just go to bed 1 hour earlier Sunday night and you'll back back on track the next day. The only problem is that it now gets dark so early and that is what makes it seem like you have "lost an hour". I have never gotten the answer to- if you lost an hour today...where did it go? Here in CA, it is already getting dark at 6:00pm. I'd rather it be dark longer in the mornings, than dark earlier in the evenings. I mean, the kids are in school in the mornings with lights on, so what if it is dark outside (not that it stays dark that long, but just for example) but once they get home, 2 hours later it is dark - come winter here in CA, dusk starts about 4:30-5:00pm - they have only been home from school for 2 hours and it is dark. I'd rather it be light longer so they have time to play and get exercise after sitting in school all day. Or for those that have to walk home or after a sports activity. And, once dark - your mind goes into bedtime mode, and after it has been dark for 2 hours, my mind says "it has been dark for a long time, it has to be bed time" and I look at my watch and it is only 7pm! Then I think "I have 2-3 more hours to go!" and that is what makes me tired! But at least it is only what, 4 months now instead of the previous 6 months? So I am only tired in the evenings for 4 months instead of 6 - gotta grab that hope anywhere you can find it!

Across the Colorado River from California and Nevada, here is Arizona we do not celebrate Daylight Savings Time, so our clocks stay the same. But when we drive across one of the bridges, then the time will be different. When I carried my PDA everywhere and used it as a clock that was not a big deal because it showed dual time zones, but my fancy new smart phone hides the international time function in some menu instead of displaying it as background. There is probably some way to program it to display right but I haven't figured it out yet. Thanks for the reminder.

Hawaii doesn't either - I never could understand that. Either make all states change or none change - but for just 2-3 to not while the rest of the 50 do - what part of "stupid" isn't understood here!?!?!? I don't bother changing the clock in my car - to much of a hassle with a tiny tiny tiny little tiny thing to poke a needle into to change. I just know if it is off, add or take away an hour! But I just wear a watch and never even bother with even looking at it! I did notice today that it is slow/fast - as it is not just off by the hour, but also the wrong minutes. LIke I have nothing better to do with my time!!!!

Well, you see if people could agree the problem would not occur, but I for one would be very annoyed if the federal government came in and tried to tell us Arizona citizens what time it is in Arizona. The whole silly nonsense started back when they needed people to work longer hours in the fields anyway, so my view is they should have gotten rid of daylight savings time when electricity became mainstream anyway.

Yeah, they should have stopped it when farms got more automated and the wars stopped. But they didn't. How did AZ get to be excluded from it? do you know? I heard Hawaii did cause something about it being so far off, what did it matter or it didn't effect them or soemthingl ike that but AZ is right in the middle of it all. Personally if the government wants to tell me what time it is, I'd rather have that then them telling me how much money I can make, spend or save.

Oh cool! Good for you! We love those points!! Makes us know we are moving ahead! No one has mentioned it? You are kidding!?! Usually the news programs have been yaking about it at least since yesterday!!! You know, the 2 anchors - man and a woman - they mention it at the end of the show and then slap around to each other about how they don't know if they can make it if they loose an hour or what they will do with their extra hour....the usual barf time dialog!

I think daylight saving time is rather silly in this day and age. Wasn't it invented to accommodate the farmers? Seems to me, our world is all so close together anyway now, with the Internet, that it doesn't matter what time it is. You can communicate with anyone, anywhere, anytime! I'm not looking forward to the change and I can assure you that my dog will NOT let me sleep an extra hour on Sunday morning! (By the way, I figure if it's dark out, it's fine to go to bed. Who cares what time it is? Even my dog seems to agree with that. She's sleeping more now that the days are "shorter.")
