I am happy that I don't have any star rating.

Sooner or later when you have reached your 100th post, you will be given the star whether you like it or not. Then they will give you the access to the smilies after you have made 200 posts. Then when you have made 500, you will get the ability to copy and paste.... Honestly, just like many other members here, I am not that bothered with the stars as they are nothing really. The smilies does not add anything to your post except for some bits of graphic that makes your discussions more fun to look at and that's all about it. As for the copy and paste, I am not really sure what to use it for except for copying and pasting some long URLs whenever my discussion is referring to an external source. Cheers!

I don't mind about the star I have or anything like being able to copy paste when you have 500 posts. I just love posting and answering discussions. I enjoy mylot and don't mind about what it gives me.

your star, ratings, and other unique items that you can do is your reward so to speak for the time and effort of your work here. It is a accomplishment. Keep going and you will be able to have the same as the rest of us do. The copy and paste is optional to use and if you don't want to then don't it is your decision.

I know that it is hard when you first join and you don't have a star rating and you can't copy and paste. Heck, I still can't copy and paste and I have been a member since the site was first started. I was one of the first 1,000 members her on mylot. Between work, family and extra activities, I don't have much time to post and if I can't give a complete post, I choose not to post at all. I am very happy with Mylot thought and glad that I stuck with it. I agree that it makes me be more original because I can not just copy and paste a discussion, but I still can't wait to reach that 500 mark so I can.

yep i agree with you .otherwise new members will start pasting from search engines . ant that will make this site useless.

The interesting thing sanuanu is that when copy and pasting ability was granted to me I very rarely used it and to this day I hardly ever use it either. It is nice to know that it is there if needed but I just don't find any real use for it. The main thing I used it for is to copy my posts before submitting them just in case there is a glitch in the system and I end up losing all my comments. This has happened before and I had to retype all I had just written. Now I don;t jhave to do this anymore because I can obviously save my words and repaste4 them if this happens. Having all of these priveleges given to you as you progress as a user should make no difference whatsoever to who you are or how you conduct yourself here so just be grateful in knowing they are there if you need them!

Well if you don't want to be able to copy and paste then don't reach 500 posts! LOL And if you don't want a star, you can achieve this two ways. Either don't reach 100 posts or be sure to piss off the right people on here so you don't have a star. I heard a fellow mylotter must have done this because she had well over 100 posts and absolutely no star. There was no other explanation for it. Personally I couldn't wait to reach the 500 mark. Not so I could abuse this feature, but because I had lost several postings when I couldn't copy and paste due to mylot being down or a problem on my end. Either way I had put a lot of effort into most of these discussions/responses and to lose it like that was rather discouraging. But now since I can use this feature I can save my work until I'm sure it has posted. For me, it makes myloting a lot more enjoyable.

Hello, Sanuanu! I'm glad you are happy for being who you are. It would suck if you wanted the Copy Paste function so bad, because you should not be using it to create discussions in the wrong way. I mean, it is ok to use it. You can copy links or other information, like big numbers and all... But simply pasting an entire discussion is not good at all. The Star Rating will be great later, because it measures how good you are in myLot. If you create quality responses/discussions, you will have no trouble achieving a great Star Rating and, therefore, you will be happy aswell! Now, if you start posting just for posting, then you will not have a high star, which will not be good for you. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

You can only get your stars once you post enough messages. But the thing about stars is it only shows how credible you are in MyLot. It doesn't allow you to do anythinig you else. No matter what, no one here in mylot can copy and paste responds to discussions. Everyone in MyLot are not able to copy and paste anything at all to respond to discussions, just like you, creative and a talkative. :) And most of them really care about the discussion they are talking about, that's why they sound really passionate about the thing they write. :) Anyway, welcome to MyLot! you're not really going to have a star since you haven't treach the minimum number of post to have it displayed in your page/profile. you need to reach 100 posts yet and whether you like it or not, you are going to have it by then. copy/paste is a long way to go and that is 500 posts but that is an option for you not to use when you are there already. i'll tell you, when you reach that number of posts, you won't be minding of that features but there would be few is not many times that you are going to hope you'll have such option.

I am not much into star ratings myself... I just enjoy sharing ideas and learning from others' ideas. Copy-pasting is an option. I think it is a priveledge given to myLotters that acheived a certain amount of posts. I did not know that I can now copy-paste. I seldom do it... but I dont have any problems with it. Great day!

Hello there fellow mylotters, if you keep posting a good discussions here and you have a good reputation here in mylot you will having your star too. About the copy and paste. when you reach 500 you can do that but as what you said are you happy without it then go ahead, that will be nice that you will posting here a good and creative discussions, can't wait to reply to them. In my case, i can copy and paste but i never do that all the time, only very seldom cases, anyway, copy and paste is your choice if you do it or not.But one day you might need it. Happy posting.

When I do get the copy and paste option, I'm not really going to use it unless I do copy and paste and SAY which site I got that information from it's ok. It's good when you reach 200, you get to use emoctions. :) And, a star is good. It shows how helpful you are.

it is till some opoint. its true these are ggiving you motivation. but after you reach 100 you will get a star. yopu can't deny that

on you want them you just have wait until you get to a 100 to get a star and 500 to copy and paste.

You will get a star rating when you reach 100 points.Right now you have ten points.When you reach 200 points you will get a mylot code to paste smileys.When you reach 500 points you will get the copy paste feature.Happy mylotting.

star rating donot have any effect on your earnings so don't bother abt it but yeah it looks bad if u have ratings 1 or 2 but it looks immpressive if u have 9 or 10 on the star!!i personally give imp to star ratings because this tells us tht how people are reacting to our thinkings...it may be tht some people don't like ur thinking and some like...its interesting to see people reaction! but some people make wrong use of this rating feature n rate people without resons ...this makes me feel really sad as i always work hard to say such words which are pleasent to other mylotters... i hope there will be justice in ratings...gud luck happy mylotting!!

really? but actually you get star rating when you reach 100 to 105 posts. but these ratings never depends on our earnings & i never care ratings too.

Well, I like being able to use smilies and copy/paste. :) You are limited to only 3 emoticons per post, unless you just use the keyboard :) and :( etc., so it is not like you can abuse those. As far as copy/paste, I only use that to copy/paste my poems so that I don't have to re-type them all! I am slow when it comes to re-typing something, especially when it only takes like 5 seconds to copy/paste something! So, that is all that I use the copy/paste for. It is a convenience that I have earned by making 500+ quality posts! :) So, I bet that you will change your mind as you post more and spend more time in myLot. :)
