OK, there are zillions of groups out there that you can join to stay connected with friends and family. I really don't know how many I'm on any more, but it's hard to keep up with them all.
I joined MySpace a year or so ago because everyone told me I had to have a MySpace. Well, I did and my sister griped at me because I had no "bling" on my MySpace. Whatever... I don't have time to really play it up like everyone else does and it's actually annoying when the first thing I have to do on one of their pages is find the stupid music and turn it off. I do use it to keep in touch with some of my friends/family that do not live close, but other than that I kinda ignore it.
Then I saw MSN Live and it looked kinda cool, so I joined that. I don't do much there because no one else is really on it. I don't know why, it looks better than MySpace.
Well, now everyone's into FaceBook. My husband's sister told him he has to join FaceBook. I have some friends there so I figured I'd check it out. Now I have FaceBook. My sister things it's great because she says I'll fit right in - it's MySpace without the "bling". I'm still getting the hang of it, but I don't know that I'll get all gung-ho about that one either.
How many of these networking sites are you on? Are you active on any/all of them? Do you like them or think they're just a recent craze??

tanay - I wish all mine were in the same place! Most of them are in some of the same places, but some people only join one. Too many choices!!!

I signed up to facebook but have not been on it but the one time. I do have a myspace and love it. I like to fix my page up even with music. There are so many fun and neat things you can do with myspace. I keep up with friends and family on there.

tyc - I barely have time for MySpace and my sister always makes fun of my page :) But I do check on it every now and then just to see what my couple few freiends are doing.

prankie - you're lucky that they're all using the same thing. Some of my friends/family will only use one and not the other.

There are way too many out there that is for sure. I belong to friendster and to tell you the truth, I haven't signed in there in a very long time. I'm also a member at Yuwie, that I log into from time to time. My daughters have myspace pages and they have wanted me to get one but I never have. I haven't checked out facebook yet. Not sure that I will. I don't seem to have time to keep up with mylot anymore, let alone sign up for something else.

It is very time consuming... I don't get on it as much as everyone else, but it does help me glance at what they're up to every now and then!

orkut is primarily where I belong but there are many other groups that I have joined. basically all my school friends are on orkut while collage friends are at facebook and graduation friends are at myspace. so I am olmost active on all sites and I feel its a great idea to have such sites. after some time you may get fed up and may feel that these sites are modern craze but ultimately they really serve their purpose. I feel great surfing there at least right now.

They are a great way to keep track of your friends. It's so easy to stay in touch now.
