How do you feel when you see your new discussion deleted?

It happened to me on a few occasions. I did not make a fuss out of it. Right now I have a back log of posts that I have to answer and I noticed that two posts of one of my friends have been deleted. I could read the summary of the discussion in my email reader but when I clicked on the link mylot said that the posts goes against the guidelines. Are there mylotters who have time to spare to report others? How do you feel when you see your new discussion deleted?

I am only aware of one of my discussions ever being deleted and this was back when I first joined. I do make every effort to ensure I always follow guidelines so if I did end up having a discussion deleted I certainly wouldn't be happy about it and would be likely to make a fuss for sure. I have stated my issue before with things being deleted without any real explanation why so I would of course wish to seek answers.

Well,I get frustrated when mylot deleted some of my discussion about my blog but that is okay since i know that I had violated their rules somehow.. but the most annoying thing that ever happened to me here is when a mylotter reported all of my posts in each discussion that I am posting a lot about my blog whenever I answer anyone's discussion... SHe thought I was doing that to get money here in mylot coz "the more you answer, the more mylot pays" well, she was wrong... but what the "heck", the important thing is other mylotters who are my friends knows the truth. Cheers!

You have a backlog, too? I have nearly 400 of them waiting for me!! I'm generally not picky and will answer just about anything except a one-liner, but I'm going to have to choose carefully if I want to get caught up here. I'm myLotting in between house cleaning and laundry today! So if I don't answer one of yours, it's not because I don't want to be helpful, it's because I have so many to answer!

I haven't had that happen, but I did come across one and was just about ready to respond, when I looked at the screen in a couple of mins. it was gone. That was strange, for a min. I thought maybe I did something, then I realized what had happened.

I've had some notifications like that, where the discussions have been deleted, and some of them were really against the guidelines. I've had some discussions deleted too, but I don't spend too much time worrying about that. There are people that report discussions for nothing and some of those discussions are deleted by the administrators without really pondering if the discussions are to be deleted or not.
I do sometimes report discussions, when they are flagrantly against the guidelines. I consider it my duty to keep this site as civil as possible, but when I can I consider it useful to tell the member that started a bad discussion what he did wrong, so he can correct his behavior and avoid creating such discussions in the future.

Hi Ronaldinu, ABSOLUTELY GUTTED. I have never had a new discussion deleted but I did have one with over a 100 responses to which I had also responded to every response because suddenly someone posted a moneymaking discussion link for no reason. I actually left for a few days I was so upset and angry. Why couldn't they have just deleted that response rather than my friends who had responded within guidelines lose points. Grrrr. huggles. Ellie :D

I do share your views ellie 333. It is stupid to delete the whole discussion because of a link.

if the cause of it being deleted because it violates the terms then it deserves to be and i won't be bothered about it but if other members are the cause then that is a big deal from me. if someone in the response in my discussion violated the guidelines then i have the right to report it and it happened already. the response was deleted and not my entire discussion. it is also in the terms that we must report those discussions who violated the guidelines yet hat depends on us already.

i don't start many discussion & as far as i know i haven't had one deleter. i think alot of people use all their time trying to find something wrong so they ca report it. they must be miserable in their own like & want to make everybody else miserable.

I don't know that this has ever happened to me, but I don't really keep up with the stats here. I just reply and post. I don't know if I weren't notified that I would even realize if one of my discussions was deleted. I guess I would want to know what the violation was to prevent it from happening again.
If you are getting several deleted I'd suggest reading the guidelines to make sure your discussion are meeting them.

Hi ronaldinu, you have my sympathies. It isn't nice to see your discussion deleted. I suppose that a lot of people out there are sensitive and can misinterpret what we are saying. If there are abusive discussions or comments, then it may be necessary to report them, but thankfully that is the exception,as the majority here at MyLot are normal people. I wouldn't worry too much about past discussions though. I like MyLot because it's very much in the here and now. All the best. UMart

Hi
Well, I have heard about this but didn't experienced this. Of course, I must admit that I started very few new discussions.
But I have often experienced that my replies are sometimes got deleted. It certainly not a very good experience. I try to post replies so that those aren't got deleted. Afterall, it's a wastage of time and effort.
Anyway happy mylotting.

fortunately, i haven't got any deleted discussions yet but if that happens to me, i will probably be quite saddened about. i will think of the probable reasons why it was deleted.
i think i feel better because mylot has their rules that we should abide and if that deleting a discussion is the consequence, so be it.

This has happened to me also and felt really bad first time. However, I became cautious since then.

It's never happened to me. But I don't have many discussions. But yesterday I replied to more then a few discussions other people made and today I found out they were deleted, and these topics were not offending or nobody was breaking any rules, so I don't know why they were deleted. And also some of my posting points went down and money keeps on subtracting from my account, I know it has something to do with the deleted discussions I responded to,but so far about 15 cents has been removed and I didn't even post up to 15 cents worth yesterday..LOL.. Maybe it's a MyLot glich. This has never happened to me before on here so I'm wondering what's going on.

This has happened to me once and for the love of God I still dont know why. It was a very decent discussion and in no way violating the rules of mylot, yet it got deleted. I let it be, for it makes no sense fussing when you dont even know ther reason for it. Wish the mylot admin would explain why the discussion got deleted, or how it hurt the sentiments of this, that or other. I was more bewildered than hurt. I just grinned and carried on. No sense in crying over spilt milk, eh ?

I've been told that discussions are removed simply by flagging them. Apparently, they are removed before being checked. I believe some people flag and remove posts vindictively.

I ask myself why was that?! I have the best opinion about myself, so hard to believe I was wrong!
I still wonder about those deleted discussions: Can the comments take a good discussion to the recycle bin?
Or, better said, am I always guilty if my discussion was deleted?
This is still pretty unclear to me....

You know, couple of my Responses got deleted, That too which i have been marked as the "Best REsponse" Since i dont have any track about my all the discussions i am not able to give you the other detetions details..
As for as the Best responses are concern, i have a track that, how many best responses i have got so far.. Infact i have numbered all my best responses, out of which yesterday, i found that, Couple of the same has been went off..
I don't think, that they may not be violation of the myLot guidelines or others.. may be the duplications or any other reason those discussions may get deleted..
And also the impact of the total discussions deteleted from my account will reflect in my earnings also today, I found there may be $0.13 was reduced from my earnings.. I don't know, whether the same will be componsated by myLot in another day.. or something..
Have a good day.
