This is crazy, more melamine warnings!

I know, it's just insane them doing that! Personally, I won't buy ANYTHING from China anymore. I realize that most of the people working the factories there are not doing this kind of thing, but it only takes a few to ruin the reputation for all. There has been so many different things that have had that melamine in it, you would think that our country would no longer allow food products of any kind in here from China. And at the very very least, our country should make it known that no amount of melamine is acceptable in our products, and that if any is found, business with that company will be terminated....period. First it was the lead in painted objects for kids, etc, and now the melamine. In my opinion that's two different strikes against buying their stuff, and numerous infractions in each case. If it was an isolated instance, then, well....Ok. But this is an on-going problem and for me the best way to deal with it is to just not buy any Chinese goods. Don't they realize that this is hurting their own economy and export businesses in the end?!

What is it about China? Melamine, bird flu... okay, it's not just China. Japan had mad cow disease... Asia, maybe? Maybe they ought to stop working on technology and start working on better health and safety measures! It IS scary! You just don't know what to eat anymore. First beef, then chicken, then milk, now eggs? It certainly makes me want to buy local from now on! I've thought about raising chickens off and on for decades. I think now is the time to actually DO it! At least I'll know the chicken and eggs I eat are healthy! I have a cattle farmer across the road so maybe he and I can work out a deal... barter. But, what about all those who can't buy local? Hopefully, this newest scare will force them to take a closer look into why this was allowed to happen in the first place and do something to ensure that it won't happen again... ever!

This is so scary. I just wanted us to be American made, and especialy when it comes to our foods. Whay arent we just making our own foods? Why did we get involved with all this? I just feel like they dont care about us and are throwing us to the dogs? What Is wrong with American farmers and farming, why cant our government support our own and stop bringing in this poisened food I am just so disgusted that we have to pay so much for food and then have to be afraid to consume it. Americans need control of their own food! These other people are trying to kill us....

Yes, this sort of thing is quite frightening. Contaminating the food supply for people and even for animals (especially ones we end up eating) is quite immoral and especially when it is done out of greed. It is as bad as trying to save money on cattle feed by grinding up the bones of diseased sheep and causing mad cow disease. People need to think about what they are doing and take the moral high road.

I've stopped buying food from China. I started with fish about a year ago, after reading how they raise the fish--in sewage water! I miss my shrimp. It really hard sometimes to find American made/farmed food. That's rather ridiculous, don't you think?

I worry about our food supplies, but we have a choice, and we can buy things grown locally or in the US. What about all those poor people in China, who have no choice. Just think, first milk, then eggs. It is really awful for them as well.

I think maybe we (in the USA) need to look at alternatives to importing from China. Hopefully China is looking into stricter regulations or whatever needs done to prevent this from happening again.
