This year I am thinking about having my Christmas after Christmas. With the way prices are I know I can get a much better deal after Christmas. It would not take away from celebrating jesus's Birthday. We would still celebrate his birth. Have a nice dinner and all. Decorate using the past decoarations. I have planned to have our christmas gift giving on december 28th. My boys are grown so no need to worry about young ones. For me it will help me get more for my buck. What do you think? (by the way I respect your opinion on this but lets try to be civil here, Thanks)

I think that if it works for you and the family, then it works, period And, yes, the way the economy is right now, waiting until after the holiday is probably the best way to make sure your dollar stretches farther

I think Christmas should be celebrated every day!
Seriously though, I think you should celebrate it because you want to and not because you feel pressured to do it on the 25th. I know I will be working on that day. My brother won't be here and my schedule may conflict with my mom's and sister's so who knows when we're going to celebrate our Christmas. Besides, I'm used to celebrating it on a different day. Boyfriend and I go to his dad's house a certain day (if not on the 25th) to celebrate with them and does the same with his mom. And knowing that there are a lot of divorced parents out there, I know children get to celebrate their Christmas with at least one of their parents on a different day.
Though I don't really think you should base it on the deals on gifts you could be buying after Christmas Day. Maybe just celebrate Christmas with a mellow-gift-swapping event. I'm sure everyone in your family would understand. Have a great one whenever you choose to do it!

There are probably alot of people who will do this. It defintly would be cheaper but I have five little grandchildren who wouldnt care for the idea. I do think, if it wernt for them, then yes, that would be smart. It is amazing how fast the prices all come down on everything. What works best for you is fine. There are many who want do gift exchanging at all but will have Jesus in their hearts and minds and celebrate his birthday. Its all so comercialized anyway , anymore....

I think if it works for you and your family, go for it. I'll be having Christmas from the weekend before to sometime in January lol. Different circumstances however. I will be exchanging gifts with my s/o the Saturday before Christmas, because I will be flying down to see my family on the 23rd, he isn't able to go with me because of his job, and other obligations. Then I'll have Christmas with my family on Christmas, and I will be receiving my Christmas from my sister sometime in January. All of her things are in storage at the moment due to Hurricane Ike, and major repairs on their house. But they do have a house, so many lost everything on her street. So like I said, if it works for you then go ahead
