What are some good unknown bands you know about? a couple bands worth checking out are Steel train and jonezetta.

Azure Ray has a beautiful sound. I really like "Dragonfly." I like Tilly and the Wall too. A terrific way to find new indie music is to subscribe to Paste magazine. Each issue comes with a 17-20 song sampler CD and most of them are pretty awesome. The Elected, Blake Sennet of Rilo Kiley's side project, is terrific, really mellow. I saw them live when they first got started and it was a great show. She & Him (Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, respectively) is a terrific duo who just put out their first album in March this year. It's really hard for me to talk about "unknown" bands because most of the bands I like are unknown around here but in places with even a mediocre scene they're probably old hat.

How about American Indie duo, Azure Ray Maria Taylor and Orenda Fink. "The drink we drank last night" is my favorite song from their list
