My son is 6 and has Autism. One of the rewards that he earns in school for good behavior and doing his lessons is computer time. When they get computer time, it's at a specific website: www.starfall.com The teacher told me about it when he joined her class and I checked it out. It's got all kinds of games that help teach kids the alphabet and the basics of reading. My son LOVES this site. What's more, since he's been on the site I've seen him writing and heard him saying the words he's learned from the site. Since there are also images to accompany the words, he can identify the items outside of the game. So playing this game has actually helped improve his vocabulary. Thought some of you other parents of kids with Autism (or without) might be interested in checking it out.

I have a 6 year old son with Autism also and he visits starfall.com everyday , he love's it also. Last year for my son's birthday me and my husband gave him his own desktop computer and he has learn a lot from all of the educational websites and educational programs me and my husband have installed on his computer. Starfall is a great website and it's really educational + entertaining for children. I wish there were more educational sites like Starfall. I think there is another similar site but it's not as cool as starfall.

I showed this to my ASD child and my Cait. Both thought it was too neat. Thanks for the link and the heads up!

My kids also loves this website. We discovered this site from a friend more than a year ago. I have 3kids (7, 5,and 3 years old). My 5 year old son has Autism and this website not only made him love his ABCs more but also has jumpstarted his interest for computer and the use of the internet. Now he and his sisters take turns playing the games from this website and for other educational websites we have discovered.
