I agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder since individuals see the world in their own way. Beauty, therefore, reflects the tastes and opinions of any individual. This personal view holds true weather beauty is being viewed in a person or an object of art. It is likely that a person's idea of beauty is rooted in his or her own preferences mixted with the culture. For example, a person might have learned to value external qualities like pale skin or delicated feathers as well as intrinsic nature like patience or humor. Another culture might have totally different standards of what is beautiful inside and outside. Neverthelesss, I think that we perveive people more beautiful as we come to know them better. Influence of cultural values and personal familiarity is what creats beauty in the eye of the beholer.
What do u think?

I have always heard that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and I believe that statement is one hundred percent sure because some people see beauty in different things, such as a painter might spend twenty years on a masterpiece and see true beauty in it because of his hard work, and others who see the painting not see beauty in it,especially if they are not art lovers, and just see it as another painting, and just like my fiance is the most beautiful girl in the world to me,and I am so lucky I found her,and she is the best thing that ever happened to me,and I love her with all my heart and soul, and she has a beautiful heart, because inner beauty is more important than outward appearances.

Yes, I do agree that beauty is the eyes of the beholder. Each of us has our own criteria in looking at which is beautiful and which is not. Some finds abstract paintings as beautiful others find no beauty in it. Others find trees as beautiful creations, others just cut them down consider them just a menace. Some find blondes beautiful but others say it's the brown or the black. We have our own distinctive way of judging the beauty of any person. I find simple and mild charm beautiful while others do not and would prefer striking and stunning beauties. To me its not more of the physical but more of the character or the inner beauty. I find more beauty in a simple looking person who exudes beauty and grace through her good character and fine manners rather than in a stunning beauty who is ill-mannered, snobbish and proud.

Yes, I do believe in the saying that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. In this world, where we often see people who care much about the way they look, at the end of the day, the most important still is what's deep inside. Beauty should not be about how we look, but on how we are as humans. Yes, the way we perceive beauty depends on how it was thought and instilled to us by the society while we are growing up. I used to think that being beautiful is all that matters. But come to think of it, we will all grow old and we will leave that outside beauty behind. If we have both, there will still be one beauty left in us and it is the most important of all - our inner beauty.

ya i agree with you. beauty is in eyes only... if you saw a beautiful girl means ..because of her eyes only she is beautiful for example you can take aishwarya rai..her beauty is her eye only ..because your body can tell lie but your wont tell lie ..eyes will speak only the truth..

yes, i do agree with that... beauty is a very subjective subject and people view other people differently... but i prefer to view people internally rather than externally because internal qualities are permanent and won't change over time while external qualities are temporary and can change... for examples, our looks will change as we grow older and we won't look as handsome or beautiful as we used to be when we are young... take care and have a nice day...

Hi Hiddenwing!
Yes ofcourse, Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. That explain why sometimes we don't like the boyfriend or girlfriend of our best friend because they are not that beautiful or handsome and for us we think they don't have the attitude! but our best friend keeps on telling us that he/she is good and very perfect!
another example is when I'm looking at my bestfriend's picture and i keep on saying that "she's very beautiful" my brother then tell me "No she's not!!" she's just fair so i was mesmerized with her beauty.
That's all i can say! :-)

The best friend' partner thing is a very pervasive example for the point. I guess more of us will listen to what you say.

I think beauty comes from the heart!!! I have known people who were physically unpleasant to look at yet had a heart of gold so I did NOT notice their physical qualities but loved they internal qualities. What's beautiful to one is ugly to another. What's ugly to one is beautiful to another. So, YES, I think you're right, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!!

yup.i am with you.beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but time tries everything.i think that's similar to falling love at first love.this is the first foundation.as with it,fond of it,the next thing might happens.next step is that she is a peach,i have had a crush on her.finding a chance to get her phone or other contact media.and then dating her out,and ...and to be your wife eventually.of course it's not absolutely.some might break up.but the fist impression is critical.at least i think.LOL .and you?share your views.wish you find you kind other half.

Yes i do believe that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, each person have different taste when it comes to beauty. They have their own stantard of what is beauty for them. Other person dont really like on the physical aspect but more on the personality of the person that defines the beauty of a person. Some looks on the physical attributes of a person. It is really up to the person own perspective.

Granted, taste is individual. Personally, I think the intrinsic nature makes more sense especially after you've already know someone well!

I agree with you. It is in the eye of the beholder caused we have our differences, likes and dislikes. It is according on how do we appreciate ones beauty of a person. And it's always depending on the attitude they are expressed. What can we see with our eyes is external but the truth behind is the inner beauty of person. This is the way i look towards the true beauty of individual. Most people used their mask to cover the true beauty of their personality. But I assure you I don't have mask. :)

I believe beauty is more than outward appearances .One component of beauty is physical beauty and the other is inner beauty. As to which is more important is a individual decision.
Physical beauty is made up of the usual traits straight nose ,fair skin ,thin lips thin waist and even this descriptions is only one interprettation of beauty .This is because like you rightly pointed out its a matter of taste and what is beautiful to one person may not be beautiful to another. For example I knew men (myself included) who prefer a large woman, their claim is the more you have ,the more to love .This interprettation of physical beauty is even known to change with time, once thick lipe was considered ugly and models never had thick lips ,now thick lips is in again and even stars are pumping collagen into their lips to give it that "fluffy feel".
Inner beauty on the other hand deals with the person you are ,your traits ,morals and character. These are traits (unlike pysical beauty) are not easily seen by looking and requires more investigation and spending time with the person. These are not usually seasonal and they wont change with times (or time) as do the physical traits (fair skin will become wrinkled eventually lol) provided they were genuine in the first place. I personally feel this is more important for that matter as it can make even the pysically ugly seem beautiful and the outwardly attractive seem ugly. These are the traits that will determine who sticks with you in good and bad times.Wouldnt taht be better to have ?

The out beauty may go bad while the inner beauty will remain brand new forever. This is the difference.
