I'm the market-manager of a trainning conpany .At the first time ,i always work hard and do everything perfect try my best. But as soon as half yesrs later ,i find that the only thing my boss attend is just how much profile i could creat for him .If you earn much money he will smile to you when meeting you ,if you just keeping your common progress he'll curse to you loudly in other staffs. And now he asks me to send leaflets in the street .How can i endure such thing ? Could you accept it ? So i often quarrel with my boss for this thing .

I am sorry to hear that. In fact business all has its good time and bad time. It's just not suitable to curse you loudly in public once the business is so so. My boss has a hot temper and sometimes he can just yell to you for any reasons. This is hard to accept. I don't know how to deal with this kind of boss because it's hard to change a person's personality.

I have ever quarrel with my boss,at least i can control,if something unfair happen on me,i will leave, but i don't fight with boss,it is not good!Quarrel is helpless,if your boss is good,he must treat you as fair,if not, whatever you do he always treat you as bad,so, look, the quarrel is not helpful. It is right that striving your right, but remember that don't quarrel, control yourselves well.

If you have good reason to stand up to your boss, go for it. It's actually a sign that you are management material. However, it has to be done with a lot of diplomacy because if you upset the boss you may be out on the street, lol. Anyhow, too much arguing is also not good for your career. Speak up, when it is important, otherwise do you your job and do it right.

Hi! I understand how you feel! I also quarreled with my foreign boss several times before. I was the manager of an online class. I think that my boss is in the position to get mad if I got mistake wity my job or I became irresponsible with my job. But he exceeded with his limitations. He even criticize my personality and I felt like he is invading my personal life. That's why I quarreled with him. He is not also fair. Whenever some of the teachers got mistake, he just nag at me. I told him to address directly to the person concern about the problem. One more thing, he is operating the business in my country and I won't allow him to shout at me infront of many people.

i won't dare to quarrel with my boss unless the reason is really very valid... and i don't really like to create trouble unless if i really can't stand it anymore... most of the times, i will just keep quiet if i can still handle it... i need the job and the money to pay my rent, mortgages and other expenses... and i don't want to be jobless just because i can't control my emotions... take care and have a nice day...

I did after she fired me, and then I put her place out of business. Fire me from a job and then you can feel my fury.

I have never had any issues arguing my point with a superior but only when I am certain of my reasoning and can back up my stance 100%. The last thing you ever wish to do is start an argument with no validation to back you up otherwise you will never have a chance of succeeding.

zlp_amy,
First of all, I am really sorry to hear that things aren't working out the way it used to but there's no point getting up on your anger's tempo and spoil a good day.
I think sometimes even if you are in the right of way, it would just be wise to keep a low profile and smile away. I am not encouraging a cowering here, but so what if you had won? Or, worst lost? I think working is not about winning battles in the office, it would be better if you could just use that anger of yours to instigate you to perform better.
Since you are in charge of marketing, I think it would be wise to think about new business marketing strategies to improve your current situation. Different periods and seasons will have different demands and appeal. So, you may wnt to re-examine just what is happening to the current market situation and come up with some new proposals for your boss.
Improvise and adapt here, will be the order of the day for you and I hope that this will help you out.
Take care and have a nice day ahead.

first...sorry to hear your problem, i've been in the same situation to :)
i think your boss got some issues lol, he should never curse anybody if the worker made mistakes. he can just get them fired or cut their salary. but in the other way, if the worker achieve the company goal, there's must be some reward also. Rewards and punishment system could motivate the workers, and no more cursing

On pondering how many bosses actually treat their employees with the respect they deserve, I draw the conclusion it's most probably not many. Except for substitute jobs in any job I ever had I got treated very disrespectfully by my supervisor &/or my boss and even fellow employees on the same job level. I think they wrongfully treat subordinates badly because they want to abuse their power. It must make they feel good to treat people like they are less equal. They treat you bad because they know they can get away with it. Do they even stop to think how wrong they are being.(?)

I would never try to fight with the boss because I know the boss has his/her own reasons and arguing with them would only make it more stressful for everyone and you would find out the hard way if you lost your job because of it

If your boss is asking you to do things for the company and for him then you shouldn't be ready to fight with him. I would fight if he never acknowledges my work and puts me down in front of co-workers, but to ask me to do different things I couldn't be made at him for asking me to do my job.

I don't think that it is good manners to quarrel with one boss. You see you have to look at his attitude in different prospective. One should always remember that the boss has the problem have running the business as efficiently as ever and when things not going the way he/she wants he need his is different assistance to have a thing that need initiative. Maybe you have become complacent on the job and because of this the boss is asking you to implement different ways of generating income to the business. You should not see it in a negative light because when the business fails it will be you out of a job.
Too many times we look at a business as not being ours but we should always remember that without this business there won't be an income. Just go to the boss and have a meeting with him instead of quarreling. Inform him that you have noticed that over the years things has been going down and you would like to know what can be implement to bring back interest in his business. That is what marketing is all about generating more income in a business.

I have always quarreled with my superiors especially when they are trying to do things that I feel not right for the staffs and the company. However, I would try my best not to sound rude and try to prepare myself before the fight so that I would know how to attack and defend myself and required.
This is actually a common problem when we are working for a boss who has no intention of being a person to guide you but just to be a person to boss you around and do donkey work for him or her.
I had bosses like that before and I had some good fights with him and finally I went over to his boss and told his boss about the problems. His boss told me that it was difficult for him to act against my boss as he is the favorite person to the biggest boss in the company and that explained his bad attitudes toward his staffs since he felt he was protected by somebody else.
In the end I decided to leave as I did not see any point working with somebody who had an attitude such as him.
Cheers!

i would never quarrel with my boss in terms of work, but if i feel that my boss are trying to piss me off or if he try to step my pride and dignity and specially if he told me to do something that i shouldn't not, i'll say it in a nice way or talk to him if he has problem with me or he hates me, and i guess i'll just retire.

i think not because of what i said but because i know his many secrets.
try to get some of his secrets. just be friend of his friend .
