Have you ever sung in a choir?

When I was 18 years old, I sung in my church gospel choir on Sundays. We have to rehearse during the weekdays on Tuesdays, and I really enjoyed it. I didn't like the fact that although we would sit in the choir stand after we sung our songs for that service, I'd be extremely sleepy while the reverend ministered. I would end of knodding off and my fellow choir members would have to nudge me to keep me up. It was too funny and fun. I loved singing as a child; and I love music. Although I've heard of people singing in the shower, and using their toothbrush or hairbrush like a microphone in the bathroom in front of the mirror. I only recall doing that a few times. I don't make it a practice to do now though.
How about you, have you ever sung in a choir?

Yes, I sang in the choir when I was in school. I really loved it, because we had a good company and we always were traveling around the country and had different events. I really loved those times, it was cool and a lot of fun. I wish I had a chance to do it now as well.

I do... at my school's choir. We practice on Thursdays and perform at the church ceremonies and also at the school ones. We have a great time singin' and it is a relief for my mom, 'cause I sing all through the house and enoy everybody, I'm shocked they havent killed me yet, LOL... I think I'm not that bad, 8P
Happy MyLotting and have a nice day!

I did in middle school and I really enjoyed it. However they only alotted you so many extra classes & music wasn't a requirement so I never took anything further. And my mom never had the $ for the dress code they required of us for concerts nor did she ever attend them :(
But in all I do miss it, tg for singing in the car & shower *LOL*

When I was in high school, I sang in the school choir, I really enjoyed it. I have been in my church choir for about seven years now. We rehearse on Tuesday and Thursdays. I love singing in the choir, but I do not enjoy the lack of unity.
There are some choir members who never show up but once or twice a month. Our choir has decreased in numbers over the years, and we seem not to be able to keep or get a good organist.
Having said all that, I do enjoy serving the Lord through song as a member of my church choir.

Yes, when I was a child the only reason why I loved going to church was to sing and or sing in the choir. I also love music. When the preacher ministered I would find it kind of boring. When I became older I really started to enjoy the Word, now I hear double-great singing and preaching. Thanks for starting.

In the UAE, it's not easy to come by any choirs to be honest. Anyways, I have a horrible voice and would just mess up any singing group completely. =P I'm not a singing child, nor a musical child really (although I do play two instruments).
I've never used my toothbrush as a microphone and almost never sing in the shower. I do, however, mouth the words along with songs while listening to my iPod a lot of the time. That's as far as my singing career goes anyways. xD

yeah!! and it is always a great experience!
at first,..when i was about to enter the choir,..i was very hesitant to join..since it was a parish choir and i think that i sang a different genre...before that,..I sang in a solo-singing before...mm?? i mean,...i was quite a pop singer...
though...when i started to sing in a choir,..at first,..i find it hard to blend with my choirmates,...and it is a challenge....i persevered and i learned to love and appreciate the choir music,..and now i am a serious member of some choir....
as an 18 year old boy,...i want to learn more and to become a great tenor for my parish,...i want to learn good breathing,...to extend my vocal range, to improve diction,...and etc....

I have sang in a choir when I was in middle school as we were required to take some sort of music class. I really do like singing in a group. I did not opt for choir when I was in high school as they required more practices and special clothes for performances and my mother was annoyed with buying me clothes to wear for performances and just showing up in general.:0(
I had thought about how I'd like to join one again but I don't know of any that are not professional or affiliated with a church.

I sang in my High School's choir when I was 17-18... Unless You really want to do it, I do not suggest it, there is a lot of stress in it.

I used to be a member of the choir in our church. I was a member when I was still in 5th and 6th grade. We were chosen by the church's musical director through an audition that was conducted in our school. I loved singing too. And I miss those times when my friends would pick me up from home and then we go to the church for practice. Now, I haven't practiced singing too. Does the singing inside the bathroom count?

I was in our elementary school choir for a few years. It was nice and all but I didn't exactly like the songs we had to sing. The probably best reason for me to go to the choir was that we had still music lessons in school and since I wasn't exactly good at it I got extra points for being in the choir so it helped me get good grades in music for just singing. So it was worth it.

Hi, I sang in a children's choir back in grade school but not for long, I joined during the summer break. Then In High School I joined a school choir so I can be exempted in Music class and we'd sing during afternoon church service in the university church. Then I joined church choir a few years back for a christmas choir festival. Now, I don't sing in choirs anymore, I like to watch choirs sing.

Yes. i enjoyed it when I was a teenager. Well, God forgive me but I was always very excited to go to practices because it's a chance for me to see my crush. hehehe. And also, my mother won't be furious because she thinks that it's just fine anyway I go to church. :-)

Yes, I did once when my friend need to do an errand for her mom and her superior said that she can just get a replacement for her since the choir really need one person for their session. So I did but I'm not singing loudly because I really don't have the voice like the other choir members. ^^,

Oh yeah. I sing for the Mohawk Choir and I've been involved in their musicals. We're doing Sweeney Todd right now. I love to sing in choir. All of my problems seem to be put on hold when I sing with my friends. It's truley an amazing experience. I recommend it for everyone.
