What kind of lotion do you use on your skin? Do you use Jergens?

Do you use a certain kind of lotion. I saw in a magazine that Jergens has some Ultra Healing lotion that is New. It is supposed to help heal trough 5 layers of skin's surface. My mother used to buy Jergens when I was a little girl. That was the only kind she ever bought. I don't even know if there was anything else available. This would have been back in 60's. What kind of lotion do you use? Have you tried the new Jergens?

I use ReNew by Melaleuca. it is the best lotion for my skin. I found that it helps with excema or really dry skin. My son had a few patches on his legs and it worked great. No spots. I find that in the "winter" here in Arizona we get really dry and I have to use lotion. This is not thick and waxy. it is very light and soaks in quickly, but keeps my skins moist. I remember my mom using Jergens when i was little. I can remember the smell vividly. Does it still smell the same as the old formula? I have not tried the new Jergens.

I don't know about the smell of Jergens. I have not been able to find out but was told it could be found at WalMart. When I go to WalMart next I am going to see if they have it. My grandaughter has eczema so can you tell me where you purchased the Renew lotion. Thank you for your response.

I have tried so many lotions before such as Vaseline, Nivea, milk lotion(forgot the name), and Johnson Baby lotion.. But I don't see any improvement in my skin.. It just the same at it is.. Last Month I'm suffering from skin allergy and until now I'm in a healing stage.. My skin became very dry so i need some lotions that has plenty of moisturizer.. A week ago, I went to the supermarket to find some moisturizing lotion and I chose "Fiona".. Well, I can say that the lotion is somehow effective but not that effective.. My skin is still very dry and it really hurts a lot.. My sister told me to buy Jergens because Jergens have a moisturizing power.. So, I'm planning to try Jergens after I had finished the lotion that I'm using right now.. I'll try the "Ultra Healing Lotion" that you were saying.. I hope it makes my skin back to normal again and somehow become smooth and flawless ... As I wish..

Right now, I've been using Vaseline cocoa butter deep conditioning body lotion with vitamin e. It's great for very dry skin, and the moisturizing works for a long time, unlike other lotions that seem to soak in and then disappear. I've tried different forms of Jergens over the years, and I like that lotion too, but not as much as the Vaseline cocoa butter.

Thank you for your response. I haven not been shopping for lotion in a long time and wanted to get some ideas on what others were using. I will check out the Vaseline brands.

Hi sweet, I have used Jergens lotion, but not for a very
long time. There are so may on the market now. I used
Vaosoline Intensive Care for a long time, but I honestly
just didn't like the feel or the smell. To me smell is
very important! So one day when I decided to change my
lotion I was in CVS Pharmacy and I started to smell a
whole bunch of lotions. I wanted one with Aloe Vera
because it is good for the skin. I ended up buying the
store brand that had the Aloe Vera in it. It smelled so
good that and it was so reasonably priced that I just
had to try it! I is just wonderful! It makes my hands
so smooth that they feel like velvet. It doesn't have a
icky feel like most lotions do after you put them on. I
am so happy with this brand that now it is all that I buy.
Sometimes the store brands are really great. It is just
like the Vasoline Intensive Care with the Aloe Vera but
cheaper. The one that I had been using didn't have the
Aloe in it and wasn't nearly as pleasant smelling or
didn't have the same texture or feel to it. So now I
am sticking to what I have.

Sound like a good idea to me. I will keep that in mind when I go shopping for lotion again. I don't think that I have tried the store brand in any of the lotions that I can remember. Thanks for the response.

I use Cocoa Butter lotion, it's water based so it soaks into your skin, I don't like lotions that make my skin feel greasy and oily, some lotions I break out when I use, my hands with burn and get all red, I'm not sure if it was jergens or curel. Have you ever tried Canus with goat milk or anything like that? I haven't yet I usually stick to what I know won't bother my skin.

I'm not much into lotion. I find it "hot to use. Unlike my husband who has been using lotion since he was young. LOL! We do buy Jergen's and I have always loved the original scent of almonds and cherry. It brings lots of memories when I small the scent. When I was much younger, my mom smothered me literally with Johnson's baby lotion to keep the mosquitoes away while I was in school.

Thank you so much for your comment. I was unaware of the Johnson's baby otion keeping mosquitoes away. I really appreciate that information. My little 3 year old grandaughter was attacked by them back in the summer. I tried everything, even the insect repellent didn't keep them away.

Right now I am pregnant. So most of the lotions I am using are to combat stretch marks. Many of them have coco butter. They seem to work well.

I am a male and I always thought dry skin affected more women than men, but I have now find myself daily battling dry skin from my neck to feet, and everywhere in between. At my doctor's request I have been trying Olay Quench lotion and Dove lotion. I usually alternate between them, and even some days I just whip out the baby oil or lotion if I just can't get soft.

Thank you for your response, mrdos910. You are so right about men having dry skin. My brother has even dryer and more sensitive skin that I do. And even the washing detergent that I do laundry affects his skin. Have a good day.

Yes I have tried it and I love it. If you're like me you rememer the very distinctive smell of Jergens..well it's back. It is that same smell that it always had and it is very good! I got a bottle of it at Wal-Mart just about a week ago.
Try it you'll love it too I bet!

i had heard and see this product before... but the price is just too expensive... that's why i didn't use it... i just use nivea or loreal... they are much cheaper and they do the same thing to my skin... my mum prefers to use lanolin cream or sorbolene lotion for her skin... take care and have a nice day...

i used to sell avon for about 10 years and find that they have great lotions for very dry skin (my skin gets itchy if i dont put lotion on it). they have oatmeal lotions and even stronger lotions for extremely dry skin.
i dont sell avon any more (stopped about 5 years ago) but still love their products!

I use Bio Oil, I have used this regularly for the last two years since having my daughter. It is an oil that is meant for all kinds of skin damage including, stretch marks, dehydrated skin, burns, scars, aging skin and sagging skin. It is pretty good, I have noticed a difference in my skin with it, it is not overly expensive and I buy it in a 60ml bottle that lasts me for about 3 or more months.

i acutally recommend the vaseline intensive care cocoa butter. it really smoothes the appearance of any marks or discolorations and hydrates & leaves my skin really smooth all day.
