Now a days lot of students especially in college I talked was complaining about their allowances and tuition. They will asking for more to cope up their daily needs in school for sometimes they're having project to buy or xerox to copy and and many more. So costly. What do you think it is advisable for them to have part time job? Are they not getting tired when it comes of study?

I think that is a good idea for students to have a part time job. It will teach them responsibity and how to value and appreciate things in life. This will help their parents out. As long as the student is capable of maintaing their grades I would yes go for it.

I agree that it was a big help to us as a parents who supported her to study. It is better to help her on her lessons and to fix her things. More on moral support for her new world. Thank you very much! Have a nice day! :)

Well of course having a part time job could easily aid them in their financial needs. I wouldn't prevent them from getting one especially if the student is struggling to manage his finances. But I think his studies should be prioritize above everything else because there is a tendency to lag behind his studies once he got his first taste of financial independence and the focus is now on earning not studying.

Parental guidance is still very much needed in this situation and I am pretty sure that your daughter would also appreciate that you would guide her in her being part timer. Your support will be of great help for her for sure.

That is one of my worries if she work for herself while still studying. To think that she choose to work and let her study to set aside. Well, maybe that is depending on how were going to explain to her and we will advice her from time to time. She was brainy. Thank you friend! Have a nice day! :)

Well, when it comes to especially a student who is attending College or a University, sometimes they have no choice but to go find work somewhere along with their going to school. As it is so expensive anymore, unless they have someone handing them a larger amount of $$ each month most are away from home having to spring for their own meals, etc. and often funds can be quite tight as well. I just wish there were more places around most colleges that could offer part time jobs for College students and offer some extra Incentives as well. The students just need to also remember that their is homework and studying to be done as well so learning how to balance and fit it all in is quite necessary as well.

Yes that is true, they don't have any choices but to find work to support themselves while studying. Colleges ans Universities now a days are expensive so it is difficult for some of those below earner to send their children into this school. The choice is to have part time job to earn and support their needs. As far as I know there are some colleges offer scholarship program to those who are qualified. All the while my daughter now is one of the scholar here in my place that is sponsored by our one of the government official. And another point for them is they become good in financial management. Thank you friend and have a nice day! :)

Why not? Students have too little a vision of the world that they think that studying is all that difficult and stressful, they should learn to appreciate the people who work for their education. They need to find jobs, not only to earn but for the primary purpose of having to see the hardwork needed to make a penny. I think these kids have it good too much that they don't appreciate things. They need to have a glimpse of the real world in order for them to be prepared of what's to come when they do finish. If they're course are too hectic though, weekend jobs or summer jobs would do. Just to give them a taste of the action.

as long as they can manage their time well, i think it would be good for students to have a part-time job. that way, they can experience being in a real working environment and develop skills on the job even as they acquire knowledge from school.

you're welcome! i hope your daughter agrees and that she will be able to handle studying and working well. i also worked part-time during my last year in university, and aside from the opportunity to experience working, it also gave me a better appreciation of money and managing finances.

I don't think part time jobs can tire me.When I was in college,I did part time jobs every term, most was as a tutor,5 times per week, those days were happy time I ever had, cause boys and girls were very cute&lovely,I liked them very much, they liked me too.Other times,I would find sales promotion jobs with my friends, such as TV sales ,chocolate sales, newspaper sales and so on.Of cause these part time jobs were on holidays or at non-course night,so part time jobs couldn't affect my studying,I got scholarship inversely each term!

No matter how good of a student you are or how well you are at time managemenet your grades will suffer as a result of having a part time job. While there are always exception albeit few exception and effects will vary a student without a part time job will generally do better if he didnt have such a commitment. As, a student doesnt really have the luxury of landing a job with flexible hours the student will more often than not have to work around the scheduel set forth by their empoyler. Such takes away from your ability to plan your own study time to its optimal potential. There is also the fact that the job will obviously take considerable amount fo your time even if itsi just a few hours a couple of times a week; if u didnt have this job u could theoretically do much better in school. For students that need the extra money and in a sense require a job id suggest finding something that is accomadating to your schduel. Working at a fast food place is not a good example as they will probably call you at random times on random days asking or in some cases demanding you work. Something like tutroing is a great way to make money and still leave your scheduel virtually untouched as the kid will probably work aorund your scheduel.

If the student can manage their time well enough, I don't see why not. As I've said, the main thing is that the job shouldn't interfere with the student's school work. For me, that's the only issue really.

Now I have the idea if we can give her the permit to work while studying. Serves as another training. Thanks to your response friend! Have a nice day! :)

I think that it would be advisable for them to have a part-time job if they can handle their workload in school so that at a young age, they can understand the value of money. Being a student and working are two totally different worlds. It is only when you work that you understand how difficult it is to budget.

Well, if the student can keep up with his studies while he or she is taking a part-time job, then why not? Having a part-time job is one way of teaching students how to be responsible at a young age, especially when it comes to handling money.

Well it is true that its very costly to be a student and its a burden for parents also to support them considering the economic situations now.If a student is serious about his study then he have to spend money for everything that involves projects and other miscellaneous things and for those who have still time to maybe get a part-time job to cope with their allowances,it would be a great advantage for those who support them coz atleast they are helping themselves also .

As long as they can manage their time. Its better if they'l experience the life being a student and an employee at the same time so that they can learn to value the money. NOw adays, its very costly and its burden for parents to support their school needs esp if they have other children If your daughter insisted to work then let her just tell her the consequences Goodluck good day

college students do get a part-time job not only for financial reasons, but also, for them to gain experience so that when they graduate, it would be easier for them to cope up to the environment. But they should have part-time jobs as long as they would be able to manage their time well...

Hi friend, Now a days money is playing a vital role in education too.If you have money only you would have lot of degrees beside your name.Like that education is also ruled by money.I think it would be really better if students have part time job so that they can buy some things instead of being small things to be burden to their parents. I feel personally it is good to have a part time job. Have a nice day

i think it's ok to be a working student. on second thought, i think its cool! u know, because if you finish your studies doing that, i would be so proud of you. doing work and study at the same time, it is very hard to do. and i salute all those students who would do anything just to finish their studies. when i was in college also, i want to be a working student, but my parents would not let me, because they said that it will affect my studies. well, i think it depends upon the person, if he/she is very industrious, patient, and responsible, i think, he/she can make it. and with the help of God, he/she will definitely make it.

Some students just need the part time jobs to get money from it. Because everybody doesn't have money to get something to eat or wear when they don't work.. But yes, it's harder to study when you work also at the same time.
• Philippines
7 Nov 08
Yeah, you've got the point. To have a college student now is expensive so we need to teach them to budget their money and they will appreciate it only if they experience the hardness of work. While studying they go to work for their own needs for it is a big help to the parents. Thank you friend to your participation and have a nice day! :)
