Awhile ago i went to the Statistics office to get a document, then upon arriving the guard by the door directted me to a very long line of people trying to get their documents too. Many of those in my line got irked when we saw the tellers doing nothing, and very slow in their work, even having snacks at their posts while working. Waiting in line is a very straining thing that i do. especially if i'm in a hurry, and you see the government employees attending to you in a lazy pace.
do you fall in line too? dont you just ahte waiting?

Oh my... going to the NSO is really a challenge... because of the heat, and the huge number of people... if i had a choice i would just go to the website to get my document... but i can't... i experienced such a thing last year... and i really felt drained afterwards...
I had no problem with the workers because i saw that they were doing their job... but then the problem is really the huge number of people... if only they have a system that would make everything go much faster... that would be nice...

well that is the the national office right, what i'm talking about is a provincial branch here in northern luzon, in fairness, some of the employees are doing well, but it just happened that i fell to the line of an old employee about to retire, she works slow, laughing and talking to her fellow teller, even eating snacks while we are mumbling at the back watching her slow pace. I havent tried getting documents from their website, besides, going there is faster than waiting for the delivery boy to arrive.

i also dislike waiting in line... but funnily, i had to do that twice this week in the place where i am working... recessions had forced my company to cut down on the hours of the part-timers and hence we are really understaffed... two days ago, i had to wait in line for more than 30 minutes to return something... i give up my tea break because of that... and yesterday i have to wait for almost 30 minutes as well to purchase something... it is so annoying because the queue is so long and i am wasting my time just standing in queue like that... but i can't complain a lot as this is the place where i work... so i just have to be patient... if it is somewhere else, i might already make a rant or give up and leave all the stuffs altogether... take care and have a nice day...

Oh do tell. They are a bunch of lazy baghead. I know how it is in NSO. I fall in a long line for freakin 5hrs. It was hot, I was so hungry, and It was so slow. And I am not suprised that it is still an ongoing problem.
And the last one i went to was DFA. Getting my passport was a nightmare. I was standing on queue with a long waiting line for 8 straight hours. No kidding! I couldn't leave my place, in fear i might lose and have to fall in line again. I swear someone should shoot some heads on this government workers. I got there about 7am, i didnt even had my coffee, and i got out in that awful place about 3pm! Good thing there was Mang Inasal Restaurant nearby. Or i'd go crazy.
Good thing with NSO, they have this call and delivery options. Unlike DFA, your appearance is requested. And boy, it was the most awful experience I ever had with the government agencies.

Oh no, the DFA is my next, so it would be another falling in line. Well i dont leave the house with empty stomach so it means more energy to wait. Hahaha we can shoot them in the head but only in our imaginations. aside from losing your spot in the line, sometimes we have prolems like those who sandwich themselves in the line, then an irked person at the back would shout "hoy bawal sumingit" that would complicated the already existing problem of the wait. anyway happy posting.

You are right it is annoying that people fall in long lines and yet the servicing officer is getting lax and wasting time instead of attending to people who are waiting to be served. if i were you i will ask the guard for the suggestion box and then i will get the name of the servicing officer. they should know what these people are doing.
if waiting is unavoidable i just plan my activities for the next day or maybe listen to my mp4 or just read something you will never notice that it is already your turn.

hey there, thats a nice strategy in killing time, well a lot of suggestion boxes are everywhere nowadays, the thing is that, do the administrators even bother reading them? I noticed this because i also drop something in suggestion boxes but there seems to be no change, it is stillthe same old scene

at least you have the means to inform the management about the incompetent behavior of their staff. you never know if other people too have done that too your comment will validate the report. remember the more who have reported such things would mean that the person is really incompetent.
well no harm in doing that instead of whining about them.
be the doer not the talker.

Yes it is indeed a very irritating and tiring thing to do. It is most prevalent in Government Offices, some even experience of having to line up and wait then after reaching for their turn only to be turned away because there are papers that are lacking in the papers you submit very frustrating indeed. Another thing is that some of those that they place in their front liners are just not appropriate as they are not that courteous at all with the person they are dealing with. I guess their office would need additional people who would check if you need to fall in line or there is something that is lacking in you that you need to attend to first before falling in line.
In banks too when there are lots of tellers attending to something but not accepting any depositors at all. I really don't understand it at all in one bank I see many tellers sitting down but then only one or two tellers do accept deposit or withdrawal. The fact that they have plenty of people lining up with them. they should have at least added additional tellers to hasten up the transactions.

its really the most frustating experience when reaching the end of the line you are sent back to falling in line again just because of a few reason. especially if there are not bulletins or instructions to follow in that office. Its also very disgusting to see inefficient government employees being paid by our taxes. they should organize their office well to spare us from losing precious time in our lives for nothing.

I hate this too. I have often put off doing important stuff because I know that I am going to have to wait in a long line to get it done!! Like going to the license branch. Oh Boy that is the worst.

Yup, it used to be the same over here; though there's some slight improvement in certain government departments like Tax and Immigration. Others like the Town Council, so forth, are simply terrible.
It's very annoying to stand so long in line, while the bl**dy workers take their own sweet time! And to think that we are paying the salaries of these idiots!

true, the local government and regional agencies are the ones using this old system. worse, they are even arrogant, especially old employees who are about to retire. in national agencies they have a more efficient system, but of course not all of them. they issue a number so that youll conviniently wait in a chair watching TV or whaever type of entertainment they offer. I like the system of a business center of smart communication they also offer free internet on a touch screen computer, you surf the internet while waiting for your turn. if this system is available in government offices, waiting should not be so bad at all right?

Yes, i hate unnecessary waiting very much..esspecially in India, we have to wait for everything.. from using the toilet to surfing in cyber cafe, it is always queue..Those govt people who waste our time does not know about the value of time..They are sitting in a very secured place and we are always dependent on them every day..We have no other go..so learn to wait and adjust to others laziness..HAPPY WAITING..

hahaha :D well its not that different here in the philippines, many things are always done in long lines. Most are from government offices, lines in the ATM, including game show studios, relief goods claiming etc. its part of ordinary men's life. however there are some influential people here who seems to be exempted from this.

I also hate falling inline especially when I'm paying the bills. I make sure that as soon as I receive the billing statement I would immediately pay it several days before the due date. It's been a trend for people to pay their bills on or one day before the deadline. I also don't like to go to crowded places where the origin of the line is unknown especially on government offices. So I just ask people to do the errand for me to avoid this situation. ^^,

Well its just sad that most people see government offices to be the place of inefficient employees, that why our country does not move on from its present state because of this. That strategy of yours in avoiding long lines is very good, most people flock to the cashiers at the day of deadline which gives you ample time to pay your bills less the hassle of falling in line.
