Do you stay in a hotel or rent a house when you travel?

Ive noticed nowadays that some foreign tourists prefer to rent a house during their travel instead of staying in a hotel which has higher cost. They will rent a house where they can do usual stuff like what they do in their house. Some enjoy staying in the hotel since all their needs are being taken cared already but with charges of course.
HOW ABOUT YOU DO YOU PREFER STAYING IN THE HOTEL OR DO YOU GO ON RENTING A HOUSE FOR YOUR TRAVEL GET AWAY?^^,

I stay in a hotel or at a friend's house because I need wheelchair access, which is hard to find in a rental house (or a regular house for that matter).

My boyfriend and I tend to stay in a hotel. I like the feel of being in a hotel while I am traveling. Plus we don't spend too much time away from home. We have gone to DC and stayed in a hotel for a few days and then stayed with his aunt for the rest of the week.

Hi friend,We dont take long trips mostly ,whenever we plan a holiday it would only be for 4 to 5 days because of my husbands work.He cant leave his work more than that .So we would prefer only hotels when travelling. When we rent a house we need to cook or buy food outside, that way buying food out is costly it doesn't make much difference so we would prefer staying in a hotel.thanks for sharing.happy mylotting.

Hi buddies,
I will prefer a stay at hotel when i am going a tour.Staying in the hotel will
be a safe and better to stay in the hotel no problem will be their just we will
stay only for 2 days better to stay in hotel not in rent house. If we rent in a
house for 2 days when we going to a tour its a waste. When i will go to the tours with my family members we stay in hotel.

i always stay in a hotel or motel when i travel... i never rent a house before... because i only go for a short time whenever i go traveling and it is very hard to find a house to rent if we only go for such a short time... i know that i have to pay more when i stay in a hotel... but it is inevitable and can't be avoided... take care and have a nice day...

I prefer to stay in a locally owned guest house for a few days then move on to the next place. Then I might stay in a thatched beach hut for a couple of days. I am delighted when I find unusual accommodation like I did a tree house in Belize. Wow! Posh hostels would keep me away from the local culture, but renting a house would put me in the community. I would then be able to meet the local people and practice their language, like basic phrases. I guess that houses are rented for a longer period than just a few days. It would be fantastic to rent a house for six months in Costa Rica and get a taste for living there.

SO far, all my trips are short ones, ranging from 3 days to 5 days at max ^_^ So most of the time, i will be staying at those cheap but good hotels.. haha ^_^
BUt now there are service apartment kinda hotels, whereby it's big, and have majority of the facilities that one can find in a house ^_^ And their rates is also slightly cheaper as compared to those hotel rooms too ^_^
SO far i have only stayed in one of those service apartment hotel once, and it was worth it, especially it has got a large kitchen for cooking.. hehe

Hi zhaychel, for me i will stay in a hotel but not rent a house when i travel. It is not impossible that i rent a house when i travel for just a few days, mostly hotel is more suitable.Hotel also provides many facilities like morning breakfast,so that we does not need to go out to eat in the morning. One more is that we can't rent a house through booking online and we did not know where had a house for us unless you had friends or relatives at there to help you.

The first time I travel in my wife's place we stayed one day in the House to meet all of the oldies and relative of the family and after we stay in the Hotel until the time we got back here in Kuwait and we only let them stayed with us in the place to be with us and in anyway we travel we always take a Hotel room for the convenience.

It depends on how long we gonna stay in the place. If we just have to stay for a couple of days or a week, I prefer to stay in the hotel. But if we have to stay for months, it will be better to rent an apartment. My husband travels a lot because of his work and most of the time, he stays in the hotel.

hubby and i prefer to stay in a hotel since we love to pamper ourselves.. having the chance of seeing other places is truly a blessing so we have to enjoy and make every second worthwhile.. whenever we have the chance to travel we make sure to stay in a nice hotel with complete amenities and facilities.. i know it's kind of expensive but hey, it's a great opportunity you shouldn't dare to miss.. we only live once so enjoy your life while you still can..

It really depends for me. I've done both. On short stays (up to 3 days) I usually stay in Hotel and take advantage of it's amenities and dining options. Because I typically travel for leisure with my wife and kids, for longer stays, I will usually rent a condo or house because I can go to the grocery store and stock the fridge with meals, snacks and drinks.
It's much more convenient to have a full layout with bedrooms, livingroom, and full kitchen when traveling with kids.
