how well do you handle catastrophes? Do you keep your cool? Think on your feet?

It is fascinating to watch how different personalities handle catastrophes. One night a friend and I rented a hotel room for a business function the next day. Her daughter who was in college nearby stayed with us also. We all went to bed and we turned the t.v on (to sleep by). The t.v shorted out and began sending smoke into the room. All three of us reacted so differently to this situation. I ran to the t.v to unplug it and take care of the problem. My friend got on the phone and called the front desk to clear the hotel; so that if the room caught on fire others in the hotel would be saved. Her daughter freaked and ran out of the room to save herself lol. We were moved to another room on the other side of the hotel and we were able to get the sleep we needed. Later on the next day it made for a very interesting discussion on how we all reacted to the "smoking t.v" and how between us it turned out to be a pretty balanced reaction.

I tend to be the tyope of person who can andle when thinsg go wrong. At least on the outside I look ike I am doing well. But inside I really shouting and screaming my head off wanting to kick things. When the catastrophies are all over and taken care. I tend to let it all out and cry. I know it is backwards. But comes from a family with 7 siblings and be next to the oldest. I always had to be the strong one while the others cried.

I can get loud at times as well. It depends on what is going on. Sometimes we have to be lou din order to quiet everyone else down.

It sounds as if we respond the same way, friend. I do get a little loud sometimes as things escalate, though.

I do not freak out, at least not externally. I may fall apart when the catastrophe is done, though. I tend to almost be outside of myself, and get very calm. I never was one of those shrieking girls that made everyone aware of my presence. I have handled finding animals in the house, plugged toilets, skids in cars, and done okay with all of them.

I very seldom ever freak out over anything. There is no point to it as it will not help the situation.

I do not handle any catastrope well. Even though I am a Christian and know not to have any fear, I am still human and I do fear the unknown. That is why I want to prepare my family for lack of food, clothing, etc. I know it is coming,I can feel it and I want to be prepared. I do not want my family saying, How come you never told us? And I will say, I have been telling you what is going to happen since 2003!!

I am quite cool headed when it comes to emergencies. I dont lose my cool, but start thinking overtime as to h ow to cope with the emergency. I feel miserable and want to rant and rave, but all my emotions are kept under control and I do what I have to do. Thank God for that attitude.
