How are you when it comes to folling direstions or maps. What do you do when you get lost?Do you think there is a difference in what a man does or what a woman does?

I am pretty good at following directions and maps. If I do need help I will stop and ask and if not sure I will have them tell me again until I am clear on the directions. Sometimes I might write them down as they tell me if it is a little more complicated. My husband on the other hand will just go and go unless I tell him to pull in somewhere and I will get out and ask.

hahaha Love your answer but that is sort of how it is around here where I am too. If we go too far south we would be in what we call "Old Mexico".

I generally have a great sense of direction. When my husband and I get in an argument over direction, 99% of the time I am right. I do sometimes get turned around though. That usually happens when I fly into a town I don't know at night or when I come out of an underground parking structure at night on a different side of the building than the one I entered through.

And no, I don't think it's gender related. I know men and women both who are totally hopeless with directions. And women and men both who are really good at it.

I am always happy if I do read a map correctly, although it does not happen often enough!

If I get specific directions or a map then I usually won't get lost. However, if I should happen to get lost, then I will stop and ask somebody for directions. As for my husband, he uses a sat nav now, but before he got it, he would regularly lose his way and would never even think of asking somebody for directions.

I have a terrble sense of direction! spin me in a circle and I do not know where I am or which way I came from. It is terribly when I pull off to a rest area and do not know which direction I came in from! I stop for directions often - keep an atlas in the car - when I ask directions I take a pen and pad with me - because I will zone out when listening if I do not and not remember what I was told.

Do not feel bad, I have to write down every turn or I am lost...lol and listening does not work...I have to write it down every time. I know what you mean, directions are not my best thing either!

I'm an ace in the hole when it comes to getting around a place, not to be conceited or anything. It just seems like I have a built in compass and if I have seen the place on the map, I can usually get there. I have often been told that someone could turn me lose in a forest that I have never been to many miles away from home and would be able to walk back with no problem. I don't think it matters whether you're a male or female. Some men have no sense of direction and I have also met women who are the same way. I myself drove through the city of Boston while reading a map because my male navigator wasn't doing his job. This was my first time in that city too. It was challenging, but I was complimented when I got us where we needed to be safe and sound. LOL Thanks for starting this discussion, and have a great day!

well,i am good at getting directions or following a map. And no i dont think a man or woman makes it any different...infact some men get even more confused and lost as they are thought to know the way (being a man) and just leading to the wrong way!lol
