hello? partyline?

do you remember having a six-digit phone number and a partyline? i know ours was 983362, and that our partyline was on the phone a lot because they had this food business and it was difficult to make and receive calls.

Haha! I remember those days when you could hardly make or receive calls because of those "party lines". Also, it takes ages to dial a number because of the type of dialing system we have back then. :D

Yeah, I remember those days... "hello! Party line?.. can you please hang the phone, need to call someone... please..." funny but it was part of the developments of telecommunications. Good that "mobile phones" doesn't have something like that now (just a crazy ideas)... can you imagine receiving a message that was not meant for you. Huh!

A partyline is a someone who shares or who have common connection with you in the telephone.
If the party line is already in use, other subscribers to that line pick up the phone, and they can hear and participate in the conversation. It's like you do not have any privacy at all. Party line used to be so common in the late 80s and early 90s.
