When you dine out with a friend

When I go out with friends we always go what we call dutch that is we pay for our own meal. It sounds like your friend wants you to pay for part of her meal. The only way I would do that is if we were having pizza and something like that. I don't think it would be fair for your friend to askyou to pay for part of her meal.

Honestly anytime that we go out with friends we always pay for the whole bill. I've only split bills when I was in High School when money was really tight. And now since are finances are even tighter we tend to eat at home and invite friends over. And it sounds like your friend just wants to save a little money and must think your good for it. Which I think it totally not right. I mean I understand if you guys ordered some apps and split them and than split the bill. Or than again maybe your friend is just going thru a rough patch. Or maybe she didn't have enough money.

I always get separate checks so there's no disagreement.

hello my fellow myLotter, it depends on the situation. if i know my friend doesn't have much money i offer to pay the bill. sometimes we pay for our own meal. happy posting!

I think it is based on the situation. I really want to pay for my own bill. In some times when I go with my friends I used to split my bill with friends. Happy to share. Happy myLotting.

I think paying according to what you order is fair, epecially if there's only a few of you and you ordered per meal making it easy to compute

When I go out with friends we always feel it is easier to just split the bill but i know if I am with someone who doesn't have as much as I do I always nominate to put more but i must be honest not many others do the same but i feel better doing it..

Hi, if we are ordering individual dishes, we would usually check the items on the bill, and pay accordingly. If it is at those restaurants where we order a few dishes and share, then we would just split the bill equally.
