Do you find you are always bumping into things when the light is out

This happens to me. When the bedroom light is out, I find myself bumping into the metal legs of our bed. And even when the light is on, if there is an object on the floor especially if it is staple, a nail, or a pin, I am bound to get it especially if I am wearing my good pantie hose. My husband has the same problem, only it is when he eats, he is bound to get the bay leaf. Now about the bedroom, we have our treadmill in it and our master bedroom is rather small, so I have to make sure I do not bump the treadmill or the side of the bedroom. Anyone here find that they are a little more than clumsy?

??? Even my Grandma's blind dog could get around the house.... so you move the furniture a lot?

Ah another never does anything wrong person . Next time I will lie and say that I never bump into anything, and it is only in the bedroom and we do move the coffee table around, like when I am vacuuming.

I know exactly what you mean! Only last night did I walk into the sofa in our living room with the lights of, and that thing is huge! I'm even worse though, I step on things when The lights are on, I'm just clumsy and accident-prone! The worst thing to step onto in my opinion is an upturned plug.Ow!

I never step on an upturned plug, yet. But one time, I heard a crunching noise and thought ooops I broke something! Luckily it was some Cheerios but that ws okay, but I stepped on a hazelnut shell once, and those edges are sharp.

Oh that's even worse when you feel something break! If that happens to me I always fear it would be something expensive. Luckily for me the worse thing I've broken was an old CD that I was using for a crafting project!

I have a tendency to run my self in to EVERYTHING when the lights are off, I've even fallen down the stairs, because we live in the basement of our house and there is no top light switch, so when we go down stairs and someone has turned off the bedside lamp, I usually miss a step, and then I walk directly into something so I have to feel my way around or make my boyfriend go before me so he can turn a light on cause he knows the basement better than myself, lol.

I am totally lost in the dark. I have absolutely no sense of direction. So if I am in a strange place, I am bumping against walls, etc. In fact, when we got back from our cruise, I thought that everything was laid out the same way as our cabin, so I bumped into our wall, and then almost went into our closet until I realized that the bathroom was out the other door. Oh and I bumped into the bed room legs again.

Not for always. Only those times when I don't remember or notice that things are on this or on that place. Tendency is I bump on it. I have a habit of putting things on proper places. So I know where it is. When it is transferred without my knowledge, that is the reason why I bump on it.

It is when I am overtired and upset. If I am not, then you can move the thing and I will never bump into it. But I used to do it at least once every two weeks, and it was when I was very worried about something.

Your not the only one that goes through something like that. I think everyone bumps in to the things when the lights are on and when they are off. Now when the lights are off, I don't bump into as much as I do when the lights are on. That is funny right, it seems like I know where everything is when going to the frige at night. So I don't bump into things. Yet when it light in the room I'm more likely to bump into something. Stomping the to is something that really drives me crazy. The chair, desk, anything just about really. I know exactly what your talking about there. Have a good one.

It is when I am tired, and when I am upset, and more likely at night. I have taken to get in bed from the other side and just roll myself over, and now that my husband had a stroke I have to go to bed very carefully to not bump into him. So the best thing for me is to not get overtired and not get upset.

It's funny, I bump into everything even when the lights are on! I don't know what it is except for maybe because I have such a busy life and I am always rushing around? But, you would think by now that I knew the layout of my own home right? I dont get it.If there is something in the room ,especially something that isnt normally there, it's like I am drawn to it! Then, there are the mystery bruises. I find these bruises on my legs that I dont even know where they came from! I was never so clumsy before, maybe it comes with age? I think the only thing left to do is invest in some body armor.

Me it is when it is dark and I am tired and upset. If I am calm, I am very careful. Oh and I move around quite a lot in my sleep and my husband bumps me but that does not wake me up. And I have very bony knees so I bruise there very easily.

Yes. I have to have some kind of light on in the house to be able to find my way around things, most usually.

It is not the lack of a light, it is that we have a small master bedroom (design for skinny couples) and everything is so crowded that if anything goes on the floor I am bound to bump into it. It is getting better now, as I go to bed earlier, but if my husband goes to bed earlier then me, I do not want to turn the light back on.

hahahah.. that's funny, I dont bump into things when the lights are out, because I dont try to find things in the dark as I know I will bump into things so I will switch on the lights and look for it....

Actually, I try to keep my room clear of debris so I don't trip, but my husband is famous for clutter..Because of this, I had to learn to keep a night light on because he wanted it because he has clutter..But if he doesn't come to bed right away, since my side is clear, I can have it completely dark and still be able to walk around..And the only time I do hit something, is because my husband put something there..:(

We keep our floors fairly clean but somethings things fall on the floor and since my husband's stroke, he has knocked things down from the dresser, like earrings, etc. and I have to be very careful. Also we do not have that much room in our master bedroom because it is quite small so I have to be very careful consquently bumping onto the legs of bed.

I want to write that I'm not overly clumsy, but I worry that by doing so, I'll jinx myself, and stub my toe horribly tonight. I don't walk in the dark in my house, and that seems to help a lot. I even have a night light in the bedroom hallway for visits to the loo in the middle of the night. But even with that, I've been known to bang my arm on the bathroom door frame. When I've stubbed my toe, I've been talented enough to do it during broad daylight. A few times.

I found that since I have taken that pill for my borderline diabetes every morning,I do not have to get up during the night that often, so I do not bump into furniture that much.

I am always bumping into things even when it is light out. Doesn't have to be dark for me to be a clutz. I am the biggest clutz in the world. I am forever walking into things and have the bruises to prove it. I fell down my stairs a few months back and broke my big toe. Somehow I bent it back and broke it right at the joint. Then to make it worse, I re-injured it the same day. I was cleaning one of my clients house and I tripped on a peg that was sticking out of the ground and bent it back again. Now it is 3 months past and my poor toe isn't healed totally. I am just waiting to break it again. I am such a clutz that I am sure I will re-injure it again, before it gets to heal totally. Alrighty then, talk to you later. Your friend, Chris

I'm pretty good at finding my way around in the dark but my feet "find" things on the floor, as yours do. I have no idea how they get there! I stepped on an earring last week when I went into the room my mom sleeps in when she's here--I haven't been in that room for weeks and haven't worn that earring for months! I wonder how it got there!

I am very clumsy, but I don't have any trouble working around in the dark. I frequently will leave the lights off when moving around the house at night. I very rarely bump into anything. My biggest clumsiness problem is tripping up the stairs.

That is bad. I have that problem going down as well as up. I find that the stair treads are way smaller than my size 9 feet.

I am always stubbing my toe or knocking into things when the light is out, you'd think by now I'd know where everything is in my room and yet I still knock into things and why do things always fall off too! Sometimes when I don't go to bed till the early hours, no matter how much I try to be quiet so as not to disturb anyone I will knock into things and trip over, sounds are certainly amplified in the quiet of the night. Many times I have bumped into my computer desk, end of the bed or trod on something and I go round barefoot too!

I have figured how to get around in the dark in the whole house I run my hand along the wal to get to where I am going . My thing is going to fast and cutting into the corners and peel back my skin on arms and elbow! Bleed like heck but when I get it stopped have to put bandage on rally tight to stop the bleeding. No good to bleed much when on blood thinners!

I am very good at bumping into things at night. It is a gift! Thus, I try not to go into rooms without the light on.

well it happens to me sometimes. But i dont bump on anything but on the door knob which really hurts. I would soon get bruises on my arms . I just hate that since it will be all black and blue. I easily get bruises . I know I am not a clumsy person but even the lights are on, i would bump myself on the center table. so my legs will get bruises too. I was thinking I might already be that big or I just have a small house. LOL

Hi I am the same if its there I will fall over it,the more I try to be quite the worse it gets, the sounds are really amplified at night .Droping a pan on the floor is like banging on a big base drum, the wind always tends to catch the back door and slam , I must admit the enemy would always hear me coming,I could never make a surpise entrance, my husband can move about at 3 in the morning to go to work and he is as quite as a mouse,I think he is used to me now.!!!!!!!!!
